Adapted from a poem, The chorus is in the instrumentation more than lyrics.
Based on a true story from just under a year ago, I went on holiday with a few friends and met a girl called April when I went for a walk by myself for a few hours (I do it all the time, Just clears the head etc.),
we lit a fire sat down and talked etc and then both went our separate ways, we didn't sleep In the middle of nowhere though (Only part that isn't true.), She seemed nice haha.
The instrumentation is inspired by Norwegian wood, One of my favourite songs.

It was a warm april evening and i was alone
Hiking for hours down a calm mountain road
A figure stood ahead in a red dolly rocker
So i smiled and shouted 'Hello!'

So we struck up a fire and sat down together
Talking for hours about joy and peace
Although whilist in nowhere no ears could hear us
that girl always seemed to listen to me

So she shows me her scrapbook of people and places
she hadnt seen in so many years
Although we were there together so warm
Loneliness is a friend of fear

So we kicked out the fire slept under the starlight
Side by side whilist sharing a dream
Of an apple, now ripened and perfectly red
Falling down down from its orchard tree

And so I awoke and i was alone
Looking around she'd gone it seems
So i pack my stuff and carry on walking
With that scrapbook girl in my memory

This is a beaut. That first 20 seconds is as wonderful a start to a song as you can get. Guitar sound and playing is awesome. Very talented. I was getting quite a bit of Syd Barratt as well as the Beatles and its the Barratt qualities that had me hooked. The fact that you keep the song so compact is genius too. Gonna listen to a lot more of your music.

Very nice trad folk feel to this. I liked the simplicity of it and the guitar sound is great. Very minimalist, and all the more cool because of that.
It's all too beautiful.

Hey, Thank you for the feedback.
Syd and the Beatles are two of my biggest inspirations, and I hint to syd a lot in my work. I especially like The madcap laughs album and Songs like 'Here I Go' where they tell a story and aren't traditionally set out, But still are catchy in their own right.
I Like to keep my songs to the point but still detailed enough to paint a picture, I consider them art more than anything. A lot of people I know don't really have the patience for long songs and neither do I usually haha (I do write longer ones though sometimes).
The song itself is from the start of my upcoming concept album and comes right off from the tense intro, so i just wanted something exciting to start it, Though keeping honest to my style.
Thanks again.
Dom.

A classic trad folk song. Love the idea of storytelling over acoustic guitar. Oh yeah, the acoustic guitar is FANTASTIC...especially the riffs and runs at the beginning, which come back in later on. Really nice tune!
