New Competition - The Spring Quest
Martinswede:
The Spring Quest - co-hosted by @adamfarr
Friends!
Today starts the new competition aptly named The Spring Quest.
This since it's not so much a competition putting one against the other,
but meant as a common effort to reach a common goal.
Maybe setting a longer project aside and just focus on crafting a song.
You are allowed to use any earlier unfinished material for your entry.
The Spring Quest doesn't have a fixed theme or a set of rules regarding
content but collaborations will have a head start on the score chart.
Basing your song around suggested theme 'exotic' is not a must but
might help you to get going with this project.
The Quest will run for six weeks ending on 31st of March. Post your entry in
'Feedback on Finished Songs' before said date.
Your competition entry will be not be counted by the rule of one song per two weeks,
so no worries you can keep posting songs for feedback as usual.
Remember to include collabs in the song post. One song per member but unlimited amount of members in a collab.
To make collaborations easier I've started a topic in 'Collaborations'
http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=16287.msg155099;topicseen#msg155099
as place to request collabs for this competition.
Please post a reply if you have any questions.
Good luck,
Martin
PaulAds:
Cool.
I'm going to have a go at this...I've been pretty lazy of late....so hope to get my ass in gear.
It'd be great to see a few who rarely participate in the competitions to have a go too...
Why not take a step outside the comfort zone :)
Martinswede:
I estimate 11 1/2 minutes a day as the work load for this comp.
That gives you eight hours to spend on:
:-[ - Get going, or to paraphrase @PaulAds 'Get ass in gear'(1h)
??? - Writing (2.5h)
:D - Communicating concerning collabs (.5h)
:) - Arrangement(.5h)
:'( - Getting stuck (.5h)
;D - Recording(1h)
;) - Coffee and snus/nicotine permitted by law in your country(1h)
:-\ - Mixing (.5h)
8) - Finishing and publishing (.5h)
Cheers,
Martin

Great stuff @Martinswede and well done for as they say in many cliched circles "Running with it" You certainly have your analyticals sorted. Let's try and get all forum posters contributing to this competition as it's not so much a competition but an opportunity to work with other people on here that you might not have. It's all a bit of fun and the winners are the participants :)
MartynRich:
I’m happy to collaborate with someone. I’ll do either music, lyrics and vocals or a mix of both. Beware, the weirder it is the more I like it. PM me if interested.
