Hi everyone

It´s been a while. I foolishly tried to get involved in the business side of music and well, it didn´t work out. I hope those of you I worked with don´t feel too disappointed.

Anyway, I´ve gone back to doing what´s most fun so here is a brand new track. I hope you enjoy it and I am looking forward to catching up on some great new stuff here. Lyrics at the link.

Hello...it's great to see you back!

This is super...strikes a lovely note between quite a sweet melody and a slightly more sinister implication.

Love it, man  :)

Yo Marty ! Good to see you around here again  :) It's been a while. This is good as it's unpredictable and you never quite know where it's going next. It's also pretty cosmic and trippy, love those reverb drenched guitars. I like that dark dropout section that you've got going on around 2:20

An excellent return - Top marks from me  :)

Yo Marty,ya old dog. Good to hear yer not dead.  8)

Laconic Rawk. This one is.

Lugubrious and decadent this one is.

Good hook in there and cool use of space. I love cool use of space.  :)

Don't be thinking you made a mistake by trying something which didn't work as planned, that's not a mistake man, that's bloody life. You did more than most, you gave it a whirl.

I enjoyed the track Marty, welcome back man.  :)

I liked the melody. You should maybe make more of the section that start around 2min55... like i would make that the main driver of the of the song (albeit more punchy) and get to it sooner.
Remember.... it's just my opinion. It doesn't make me right. Although i probably am ;)

Music from the forum, like this wonderful piece, is my stress relief these days. I listen and, while I have no energy for real reviews, I like this a lot.

Hello Martin and welcome back from the other forum member in Alicante...

What a strong song. The chorus is really catchy and has a lovely melodic albeit “resigned” feeling which fits the mood. And I tell you what, I really enjoyed the extended instrumental section in the middle. A strong song all round which I enjoyed very much.

Welcome back!

Love the sparse arrangement ... that guitar is quite atmospheric : almost menacing. This would work well as film music in an Indie movie. Fantastic, well done!

really nice
starts off simple and very effective
then the solo... (I find it difficult to do that myself, I'd have to be quite mutig/courageous)
Nice job Martin.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

So nice to see you back in action Martyn and what a fantastic come back :o I love every second of this song, especially the chorus and the psychedelic guitars/instrumental and your vocals are excellent 8)  Very cool vibe  8)

Please don't think your business venture was a foolish one. I was really impressed and hoping it would work out for you, but I would imagine, it's a tough business to get into. You gave it a good shot and that's what counts IMO. Kudos from me  :-*

Hey there, good to see you back around here!
Very nice keyboards too, and jazzy bass here.
Chorus is catchy (and the sparse lyrics left me quite curious!)
Definitely something ominous going on in that middle section.

For me at least, and most others here, it's all about the songs...

All the best
Adam

Your vocal style is quite raw yet vulnerable sounding in my view, which suits the understated (in parts) arrangement. I liked the guitar work, variety and texture,  throughout and the chorus is pretty catchy.

The mid break instrumentation is really interesting and atmospheric, then breaks out really well into that busy kind of surf guitar. Structurally very different and inventive. It all helps that final chorus stand out so well.

Great ending too! Good one.
