Hello all, this is a song about a lost love.

Everything for love

1. Wounds are deep they never heal
only way to get here was to have nerves out of steel
dealing with the devil praying to god
living in the past wished I could not

Refrain:  I did everything for love
Life’s too short and way too fast
All my efforts lost in love
That’s all I have to say above
I did everything, I did everything
I did everything what I did for love.

2. Naked feat wet grass
an emty church a flying dog who passed
unreal not true
all this happens when I dream about you

Refrain:  I did everything for love
Life’s too short and way too fast
All my efforts lost in love
That’s all I have to say above
I did everything, I did everything
I did everything what I did for love.

3. Never find freedom never reach home
the drunken man is now part of my own
I feel like Jekyll I feel like Hyde
And I’m always on my last ride

Refrain:  I did everything for love
Life’s too short and way too fast
All my efforts lost in love
That’s all I have to say above
I did everything, I did everything
I did everything what I did for love.

Hi there
Love the lyrics in verse 2!
Nice and unusual.
I also really like the vibrato on your voice on this one, you sing it very well.
It's all too beautiful.

Mournful, thought provoking and honest.

A simple message with a simple arrangement...what more do you need.

Nice work Alexander.

I liked this. I listened to it last night and it was memorable, sad, and pretty. Well written, sung and played.

Lovely honest song with some lovely images being conjured up.

@fischermans

Interesting rhythm!  Acoustic guitar chords sound especially rich on this song.  Your songs are crying out for a big production.  This is a song that has charm in abundance.  A song that appears to both rejoice and lament love that is perhaps lost.  Very engaging and quite beautiful

Absolutely lovely once again Alexander. I don't personally mind the lo fi production but thought that the vocals were a bit off centre. I would be more than happy to produce this one for you if you wanted me to. Anyway I thought that this was excellent

I love the repeated "I did everything....." line - so plaintive and touching.. Sad and lovely Alexander.. Beautifully delivered...

This is what I really go for, stripped back acoustic with great vocals. The repetition really works.

This is pretty solid. I listened to it then walked away for a bit and its been on repeat in my head. Thats always a good sign.

I would consider dropping the line 'thats all I have to say above'

It isn't adding anything, and may be taking away.

Pompeyjazz observed the vox panned left weirdness...i agree with him...center up that vox. If the guitar is in the way, pan it instead.

Yo Alexander.

This is a fine example of a song which needs nothing,it stands alone. It's a strong and melodic composition.

Fair enough, someone with the skills could polish the production, but the raw version is great.

This is a songwriter's forum and this is a damned fine song.  8)

I agree 100% It's an absolutely beautiful song and some songs are just meant to be left as they are  :)
