In honor of said anniversary, here is a song that I wrote about our courtship:
"Come On, Let's Go

Were we lonely?
I forget
But I can't forget the way you looked
The night that we first met
It was Tuesday
It was late
But not too late to play the flirt
Or play the hand of fate

A smile hello
Come on, let’s go
The bar’s about to close
“Here’s a pen,
“I’ll call you when…”

Were we happy?
I forget
But I can't forget the words you said
When you said it should end
I was happy
What did you expect?
But I didn’t expect the way I felt
When you stayed in my head

The urge to phone
Come on, let’s go
The show’s about to start
“Hey, why not?,
Another shot…

As much as things were meant to be
This was meant to be
As much as this was meant to be
Things were meant to be
As much as things were meant to be
You were meant for me
As much as you were meant for me…

Now where are we?
How could I forget?
We’re on the road, come on, let’s go…

Man, if someone wrote a song like this for my anniversary, I'd be over the moon  :-*
Very beautiful melody and lyrics, and very beautifully sung and produced :)

Thanks so much, Suzy.
Although, I wrote the song many years ago. Just posting it in honor of the anniversary.
But yeah, it is about me and my wife and the beginning of our relationship.
I appreciate you taking the time to listen to it. And, Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Hi @PopTodd

Nicely sentimental song, well played with a lovely vocal,I like the use of the strings to give it body, it all works very well and sounds great.

Cheers, Mikey

A beautiful ballad, with sentimental moving lyrics.

Love those guitars.

A great listen, enjoyed this one.

It's got a bit of an epic narrative feel to it this, some of these dipping aspects to the melody really tug on the old heart strings.

Really well thought out arrangement and lovely lyrics striking the right balance between a simple statement of love and a pinch of sentimentality.

Lovely song, well done.
My latest novel: pls check it out!

I'm liking this a lot, with its circular piano led chord sequences and empathetic backing and interesting lyrics.
