Thanks to everyone for their kind words...

It was great to work with John again...we had the song played on the radio mid-week on HillzFM...I heard it as I was driving round...which was a great feeling.

I tried to keep the lyrics fairly light-hearted and made a bit of a word-salad of it, so as not to get all preachy and what-have-you...I can't bear being told what to do or think...unless it's by my wife, of course  :P

Very, very nice indeed, it's so difficult to get that guitar/drum sound right, you nailed it.

Nice work, my only observation is that both vocals lines sound restrained ballsy, maybe stand a bit further from the mic and really give it some, Also the opening guitar sounds a bit out of tune, but it's probably my wonky luggoles  :)

I love the sound of the guitars and drums.

Hope this helps

Rich

Paul,
I'm delighted John dragged you out to play. Its sounds fresh and retro at the same time. Well worth it.
Liked the intro and outro. Nicely paced and lyrics suit your vocals. Good middle 8 too.
Catchy
More please.

Well this really has the spirit of 1977 embedded in it.

Really reminds me of TRB's Power in The Darkness Album...one of my favourites.
The monologue in the middle is really good and the lyrics are very clear.

Love the ending with guitars and drums... Hints of The Jam.

Lots of energy ...great tune.

I agree! "ATTITUDE PLUS"! guys 8)  How could you not, with with such gritty lyrics, punky backing track, and punchy vocals
all converging onto one track?  :o Brilliant job guys and I wish you all the luck getting this out there where it belongs  8)

Wow! Great intro - this I really love when the vox get going too - such fab punky attitude. Lyrics class - loved this set:

‘Fact-checked in the fiction farm
A constant state of false alarm
Telling you we’re keeping you from harm’

And the spoken word also fab as was that guitar playing. Gushing a bit sorry! Loved it @pompeyjazz and @PaulAds !!!

Yo Paul and John.

A classic Paul and pomps track, highlighting the best of both.

Has all the flavour of an instant classic from the late 70s/early 80s.

Magic stuff!

Hi Paul (and John)!
Sadly enough I wasn't around for your retirement party. But who needs retirement anyway.
You always seem to find the words. Once again you have pinpointed a subject, blown it into pieces and created something that incorporates a new perspective. I you weren't a great songwriter I'd call you a poet.

Well enough with the praising.

The radio show part is the true Fruit of the Highlight.

Best regards,
Martin

Ah...I feel slightly awkward dragging this back up when it appears to have had its day...but I must thank everyone for their heart-warming comments...and especially to @Martinswede ...what a lovely thing to say...thanks!
