Hi - Hopefully we are going to 'hit you in the face' with this one -  ;D

This started out as a very rough jamming track that i sent Pompey Jazz who has in my opinion polished it up nicely and added loads of value to it with some touches of genius.

With our shared love of similar music with a bit of attitude - I think it has turned out pretty well but I suppose those with different tastes may not agree but unfortunately you cant all have as good taste as Myself and PJ. ;)....but we are thinking of lowering our standards a bit and working on something country and western very soon.....Errr!! just got a message from Pompey Jazz ....sorry I got that wrong its about some C**t from Preston..but i was close. ;D ;D ;D.

Lyrics
I don't really want to go through this again
The bit where you tell me that you only want to be my friend.
What a wicked thing to do.
After all that we've been through.
That's why I wanted you........To know

You wouldn't know what love is - if it hit you in the face.
I don't need no crystal ball to see you've gone to second phase.
Looks like you're head been turned to a different place.
But you wouldn't know what love is - if it hit you in the face.

You say you only came to explain.
That you really didn't think we'd make it to the end.
Well its a flawed point of view.
Your instincts are untrue.
So I just I wanted you........To know

You wouldn't know what love is - if it hit you in the face.
I don't need no crystal ball to see you've gone to second phase.
Looks like you're head been turned to a different place.
But you wouldn't know what love is - if it hit you in the face.

Repeat & Outro

Thanks for listening ...............................or if you didn't its you loss ;)

It was great to work on this "Indie Anthem" collab with @Morefrog Jones

I love collabs and learn a great deal from every one I participate in  :)

Hi guys, nice collaboration. Particularly enjoyed the harmonies in the chorus which made me think of some ungodly combination of the Small Faces, Oasis and the classic west coast 60's rock sound. I know, it's probably just me ;D

Nice work guys

Great!!!

what a cool refrain
So upfront, short and concisely saying everything that needs be said.
This must be one of the best pop songs I've heard for a very long time!!

Thanks for sharing guys!!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

Ha ha ha. As someone who is quite literally "some c**t from Preston"  I can say I loved this. Return to form for you Morefrog. Great groove and guitar playing. You could potentially up the vocals slightly in the mix but a minor gripe. Love it.

Great song!

Yes, very Oasis. Love that.

I love the melody in the chorus. as well as the lyrics.

"If it hit you in the face" is such an expected lyric and I really appreciate that!

Nice production as well. Great job!

Nice work, I like the vibe, and Pompey always adds value, a couple of nice guitar licks creeping in too. Good video as well.

Cheers, Mikey

Enjoyed this one a lot.

Instantly recognisable MFJ sound and swagger with Johns influence bringing something extra and taking it up a few notches.

Excellent collaboration fellas  :)

Good fun, guys - nice richness in the backing track, I think the organ really makes it.
The “second base” line is superb!

Hi Guys,

Yep, liked this one very much. Great energy and super attitude-filled vocals. Also liked the reverb guitar/synth doing the chord progression - cool. I liked the anthemic feel - reminded me a little of Oasis but way better. Some of the lead guitar work was a bit off to my tin ears but otherwise a quality piece of music.
