Having a bit of fun with keys here - the verse is in C and the chorus in D, so every chorus gets a lift if you catch my meaning.  :D :D Still a few timing issues to sort but any and all comments R welcome  ;D ;D

Uber Love

This girl I know asks for me all the time
(She sold her car and now she doesn't drive)
I pull up to her place and she gets in
And off we go again
Off we go again..

Uber love
Uber love
I'm picking up
My Uber love

I'm in the driver's seat, she's in the back
Sometimes along the way we'll have a chat
I take her anywhere she needs to go
But I guess she'll never know
That I love her so

Uber love
Uber love
I pick her up
Then I drop her off

I took her to a party late one night
I could hear the crazy party-ers inside
And I wondered if she'd make it home OK
Then like a fool I drove away
Yes, I drove away..

Uber love
Uber love
I pick her up
Then I drop her off
The time we spend together
Is never quite enough
Oooo I love
My Uber love

Then one day she booked a ride
But I wasn't on my shift
And I heard some other guy
Has been giving her a lift
Oh no!
SHE's RIDING IN A LYFT !!

Uber love
Uber love
I picked her up
Then I dropped her off
The time we spent together
Was never quite enough
So I lost my Uber love
My Uber love

Great song, Paul!

Love the Beach Boys vibe you've got going on. I love a good 50s/60s sounding track.

Lyrics are super fun and I love the Lyft line!!

Great vocal and harmonies, solid production as always.

OK - I'll be honest I got about 30 seconds in and had to hit the stop button - couldn't bear it any more. Yes i appreciate the great production and clever word play etc but life is too short to listen to stuff you don't like........Anyway obviously I would not normally be so rude to actually comment on a post my inner most thoughts in such a negative way.................... ;D Except a few hours later I decide to walk to the shops and I have a song in my head and I am singing to myself " Uber Love Uber love La La la" and thinking where the hell has that come from...its still there on the way back and i am still wondering where this random tune has come from and then it hits me - Its that Canadian Bloke off the song writing forums song...so I replay your tune when i get home and yes I had been singing note for note your chorus - I had heard it once and it stuck..........So YES I think you have managed something elusive and got yourself a catchy ear worm there.....So anyway back to work...'Uber Love La La La Uber Love La La"...Help :o :o :o how do I get this thing out of my head FFS

actually your voice is beginning to remind me of
Neil Youngs voice a little slowed down.
not a bad thing.
This is obviously a well written song and some things I really liked
but generally it's a tad too jolly for me.

All the best Paul!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Hi Paul,

I read through the lyrics before I listened to the song and was struck by what a great angle this was for a love song - bang up to date and extremely clever. You've covered all the bases of the classic doomed love story and the lyrics convey that feeling perfectly.

Superb piece of songwriting ably supported by your polished production.

Paul,
Clever concept
Like the intro and spiralling chords as you say.
Then easy going chorus,
Backing vocals and harmonies all top notch.
All your usual quality trademarks

Hey Paulski
Nice work on blending the 2 keys of the song together so seamlessly.  I like it a lot when choruses go into a different key.  Stops things getting too predictable, eh?
The verse melodies reminded me of early Beatles.  Definitely a bouncy happy friendly puppy of a song.  I liked the outro too.
Don't know what a LYFT is though, will have to Google that...
It's all too beautiful.

Hi Paul. This is your best song to date in my humble opinion. It's really catchy and has lots of little quirky pauses and bits going on to give it lots of character. The lyrics are top drawer and storytelling top notch as per usual. One of the best songs I've heard all year on this forum.

I dont know how you can listen to this and;

a) not tap your feet\
b) smile

The transition to the chorus is just great. I've previously tried transitioning between keys in verses choruses etc and its not easy. You seem to have achieved this seamlessly.

There are a couple of minor timing issues as you say but, they really do not detract from the quality of the song.

Really really enjoyed it...Thanks...

Paul.

I'm not sure why I smiled when the guy lost his pined for love, but I guess it was just the entertaining way you delivered it!

Great contrast between the retro vocal style and harmonies and the highly topical car story - is this the first Uber love song I wonder?

So many songwriters sound like other artists, so it's excellent to see you stride out with this great unique style which is very much your own. Good tune!

It's a very funny song and the style goes very well. Someone could make a movie with your lyrics.
