My first shot at using Garageband, room for improvement I know....

Moving through the city, grey clouds hide the sky
People going hungry, someone tell me why

I don’t know the answers, getting old and wise
The world is going crazy, can’t believe my eyes.

Head on shoulders you know you can’t make it right

Fading lights.....

Fly across the ocean, drive on down the one
See the bridge that’s golden, and trees that reach the sun

Still I see the hungry, living on the streets
Makes me feel so helpless, I feel so incomplete
Head on shoulders you know you can’t make it right

Fading lights.....

Yo Wayne.

Really like the song. It has a Bob Seeger/Springsteen feel to it.

I too started off on Garageband not so long ago,it's an excellent DAW and great for finding your feet without being overwhelmed by the technicalities.

Regarding the overall sound,I'd like some relief/variation from the snare sound. After a while I stopped hearing the song and wanted some dynamics. It's an easy fix and I think it would help the song big time.

Just my opinion man, others may differ. Cool song anyway and a very worth topic.

A song with a very clear and important message. The accompaniment could perhaps be less hectic, perhaps a bit more simple  - I think it would fit the song better - and maybe leave more room to the singing.

Hi Wayne,

I like this. I didn't have a problem with the arrangement or the snare sound although I have a couple of suggestions. To my ears the instrumental outro would sound better between the two verses. Second I wasn't keen on the sudden stop, you could have fade out on a repeat of Fading Lights. That may have fitted better with the lyrics as the song would fade out to fading lights.

On a different note the first act in making it right is deciding to do something about it. The second is working out how and the third is finding people to help. It is the last that is the most difficult.

That doesn't detract from a very good song,

Keith
