Hi all.
So heres how the story goes.
This is what happens when you have a backing track that you don't know what to do with and you send it to @pompeyjazz.
Not only does he write some top notch blues lyrics but delivers a top vocal performance to go with it, add a bit of AtticVibes sauce and some Cawproductions trickery and heres the result.

Myself and @mikey are pretty impressed with the outcome of this and hope you guys are too.

Grab a beer from the fridge, sit back and chill to sounds of the pompster.

Production and engineering: Cawproductions/AtticVibes
Vocal and Lyrics: @pompeyjazz

V1:
Ive been thinking of that fateful day
that fateful day when you went away
Baby I've been trying
to keep myself from crying
over you.

V2:
Been together for so many years
bitter sweet memories, Laughter and tears
Baby I am dying
Cant get used to to living
all alone

Middle 8:
When you say
you've found somebody else
I'm so use to keeping you all to myself

Instrumental.

V3:
Come back baby, come back to our home
Don’t want to spend my life alone
Baby no more lying
want to spend my whole life
Loving you.

Oh yeah, very nice. I really like this song style, which makes it easy to love the song. I did notice one thing I think could be improved. The phrase "fateful day" seems too predictable. The song sounds like a guy wallowing in his despair, so maybe you could use something like that?? For instance...

I've been wallowing in my grief all day
In mourning ever since you went away

Is an example of something that might work. Just a thought.

Mostly, though, I think it's great and I think I'll go listen again....

Hi all.

Thanks for taking time to give our track a listen and review

@CaliaMoko Thanks Vikki, Will pass the info onto Pompey, I guess he was trying to keep the lines rolling off the tongue and in flow with the blues vibe.

@Morefrog Jones really great comment, We try to get out mixes and production as close to radio ready and commercial as we can so that a fine compliment. Thank you.
And yes @pompeyjazz is a super easy guy to work with..Top Bloke.

@Mutrins Thank you, really pleased you liked the vibe.

Cheers
Andy

Wow that @pompeyjazz fella is quite prolific isn't he?  ;D

Great vocal!! Well great everything really. I'm always intrigued by collaborations like this when a track inspires the vocal / vocal melody! This works really well - all the playing is top notch and it just knits together beautifully!

Loved it!

Well done. All. There's nothing not to like about this one. Pomps vocal delivery is perfect on this. The guitar is soooo oooo sweet. Mix is spot on. Song is catchy. Fine listen on a sat morning.

This feels like a Motown hit. You guys did a great job. Excellent singing and playing. Love the solo. I think you could go push it even further with some background harmonies, but it's great as it is.

Wow, very soulful singing - hard for white guys to achieve I think without it sounding like cultural misappropriation. But you've nailed it here I think - in the vein of maybe Mick Hucknall or Paul Young who have walked this same territory.

Really nice mellow song with memorable hooks and nice guitar embellishments. Just a cool listen, cheers! Worthwhile collab for sure! ;)

Whato - Just loved this song, I think the best vocal delivery from you @pompeyjazz - suits the song really well, just one thing didn't sit well in my ears...the lead guitar fills through out, maybe do a remix without them, replace it maybe with a little hammond.

Hope this helps
