A bluesy rocker about hoes... I mean.. gardening  ;D

https://soundcloud.com/caliamoko/too-hot-to-move/s-z9MFG

It's too hot to move
But I gotta go out and pull the weeds, oh mama!
It's too hot to move
But I gotta go out and pull the weeds, oh yeah!

I gotta hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe the potatoes
Hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe the tomatoes
Water, water, water, water, water, watermelons
Water, water, water, water, water, water lettuce

It's too hot to move
But I gotta go out and pull the weeds, oh yeah!
It's too hot to move
But I gotta go out and pull the weeds, oh mercy!

I gotta hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe the potatoes
Hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe the tomatoes
I gotta hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe the potatoes
Hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe, hoe the tomatoes.......

A catchy little number. I listened earlier before I had my dinner and found myself humming it as I was clearing up - gotta be a good sign, eh?

Of course in this case tomayto-tomahto does really matter, from a rhyming perspective  ;D ;D

An enjoyable clever song. Kudos!

Yo Vicki.

Love the Jean Genie/Paranoid guitar riff.  8) Not at all what I was expecting!

Snappy, rocky and with your trademark humour in fine form,it's a killer combination.

Rock on sister.  8)

@MonnoDB and @Skub
Thanks for the lovely comments. The guitar is wholly 100% all Jeff (Jzr171). In fact, the entire accompaniment is something he put together. He sent me the finished track, which inspired me to come up with the gardening action.

When reading was a bit worried about the lettuce but it sounded perfect in the finished product. Water-water-water- melons is brilliant.
Loved it!

Pleasantly got me out of my vegetative state this morning!

Really nice little listen, that I can hear folk whistling on the allotment.

Glad our song is going over well  ;D

@Skub
There is definitely a Sabbath influence in this. I'm not to familiar with Jean Genie, but listening now I hear it. But hey that's my era of influence. Anything late 60s-mid 70s.

Ha ha very good. By sheer coincidence this is the second song I’ve heard featuring Watermelons today (the other is by the Lovely Eggs). Loving the retro guitar. Lyrics lots of fun and great production. This competition is hotting up.

Well that’s me with your tune stuck in my head for the rest of today! I loved it, what a toe toe toe toe toe toe tapper. Well sung and well played - love the guitar.

@Katieoasis : Thanks, Katie! Vegetables are pretty interesting in a really good summer soup, too!  ;D

@adamfarr : Thank you, Adam! It took me awhile to figure out what to do about that second vegetable, and I admit I was surprised when lettuce worked out so well. :D

@tboswell : Too funny! If I could whistle, I would give that a try. I do love good whistling. Thanks for the nice comments.

@mickyplankton : Yeah, @Jzr171 is great with the guitars and production--lucky me! :) Thank you!

@Bill Saunders : Thanks, Bill! It was fun to do!

Jeff and I appreciate all the wonderful comments and thank you all for listening!

Yep...a bluesy rocker it is!

The riff/vocal collab works nicely with a light-hearted take on a blues lament. Like the vocal Vicki and gardening always a good subject for a blues. Years ago before I became a full-time songwriter (ha ha!) I wrote a slide blues thing called 'Slugs On The Warpath'.....I'll spare you the details...

Good collab and a perfect fit for the comp.
Take it easy.
