One single tear,
Rolls down my face,
Leading the way,
It’ll win the race.
It’s not alone for long,
Many more will follow,
In floods and swells,
Until tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow.

A violent storm of sadness,
Assaults my mind,
There is no light here,
For me to find.
An endless tunnel,
Consumed with pain,
So here I sob,
In the forever rain.

Against this tide,
I must fight,
Use all of my strength,
And all of my might.
For if I give up,
I’m certain to drown,
As the current of depression,
Tempts me down.

I need a rock,
On which to rest,
Rebuild my person,
To pass this test.
Not flying colours though,
No, just scrape through,
It’s the best I can hope for,
It’s the best I can do.

Breathless and drained,
Soaking and cold,
Curled up in a ball,
Only myself to hold.
Twisted and broken,
Bewildered and lost,
Oh how harshly discovered,
How losing your love has cost.
