Hi Peeps,

I haven't been active on the forum for a few weeks and I thought I'd fill you in as to why. Some of you may know that I'm a massive border collie fan with 2 dogs up until late last year and now, as of 2 weeks ago, none. My beloved Moss contracted cancer a few moths ago and died from complications related to his chemotherapy. This has left me and my wife pretty devastated and I haven't had the will to do anything creative during his illness or since. We don't have children so our dogs are our family which has now gone. On a more positive note, we are picking up this little fella next week.

I'm hoping this will encourage me to re-connect with everyone.

Thanks for your patience

M

I'm so sorry for your lost. Take care of yourself. It's so painful.

Best of luck with the new little guy. What's his name?

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for your kind words. We're provisionally calling him "Clyde" named after the JJ Cale song from his first album.

"Dylan" is also a possibility..........

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan

Absolutely gut wrenching - from one dog lover to another. However the new addition will help to heal the pain, I am sure.

Very best wishes
Bill

Hi Alan

That's really sad news because they are part of the family I'm sure the new member will settle into his new home and will feel the love and happiness that he will receive my best wishes to you all.

Kind regards

So sorry to hear this, Alan. Dogs become such a massive part of our lives and the unconditional love they give us is like nothing else. I know you will have given them such wonderful lives, so think of the good times - that's what they would want you to do. My folks lost their dog last week, he was such a great character, and it's so heartbreaking. But remember the love and joy they brought you, and you them.

Genuinely sorry to hear your sad news. I'm a huge dog fan and have two border terriers, both of whom are getting on now. The worst part of dog ownership is realising how short their lives are. Hope you find solace with the new pup, they're always fun to train and play with. Best wishes John

You definitely gotta call him Clyde so you can sing that to him when you go for walks. And someday if you get him a sister, you can call her Jodi Babe. I think that's what he sang.

Hope you're feeling a little better today.

Lynn

Yo Alan,I feel for ya man. Pets worm their way into our affections and the loss is felt keenly.
Take care Alan and enjoy the new pup.  :)

Sorry to hear that Alan - yeah dogs are such great companions.
My advice - write a song about him/them - but wait until you're able to.

Stay strong!
Paul
