Waves VST and Cakewalk Plug-in help?

Hi,
I've got a real issue with getting my Waves plugs-in to work. I have just installed Cakewalk by Bandlaband desperately need some help.
I have 19 Waves plug-ins which were all at v9.2 but only 50% were turning up in the Plug-in manager. The upgrade hasn't really changed matters that but I'm struggling to rescan them. I seem to just get into a loop and have tried various recommendations on the internet including  http://forum.cakewalk.com/Waves-plugins-not-recognized-by-Sonar-m3639432.aspx but I've got nowhere.

And i'm also confused by the licence of waves central. I can see on the cloud all 19 but when i try to transfer them to my computer it just shows three which have V10 against them.

I don't know how related theses to issues are but I'd like to remove all waves products and start again with v9 then rescan in the plugin manager?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Neil

Just a quick suggestion - I have many Waves plug-ins. I had an issue sometime back, and it was resolved by contacting Waves support. Their customer service is very responsive, the best music tech support I've ever had. I'd honestly give that a go first.

Please let us know how you get on. I've been delaying updating Waves Central and to Version 10 as I've read there have been problems.

I have been through every WAVES and CAKEWALK plugin issue there is!

+1 to contacting WAVES tomget the ball rolling

thanks guys.

I followed your advice and contacted Waves support and they came up with  fix the next day. I spent the next couple of evenings trying to follow it whilst the rest of the family were watching love island.
Anyway it wasn't doing what I wanted it to do so on Friday pm I rang up support. And they were able to remotely log-on to my machine and after about 45 mins had it all fixed.

So then I disconnected and took the PC back to my studio which doesn't have internet fired it up and opened my project in the latest version of cakewalk by band lab. To cut a long story short it would work properly on recording and was glitchy so I reverted to my previous version and everything worked included all my Waves VST's and I spent a happy couple of hours recording :-)

Glad you got it sorted at last

I know how frustrating it can be with the way WAVES install their plugins but when it works it is seamless

I am having my own issues at the moment with an external control surface - I hope the Presonus support is on a par with WAVES...

Hi Neil

Thanks for the info. What a hassle. A couple of years back, Waves took control of my PC remotely to fix an issue. They were on the line for absolutely ages, but they fixed it. I’m not going to update my Waves plugins till I have to based on your experience, and when I do, I’ll make sure I’ve time set aside for them to fix it when it goes pear shaped!
