Hi songwriters

i have made this mistake twice before already....
so why not one more time, i thought

would anybody of the songwriters on this forum be willing to join a chat
in the near future, for no reason.....or to discuss this forum (if we have to), what should be improved (if anything), does it need rules, or does it not need rules etc....ok boring...

just to talk music and songs?

this may sound like a desperate attempt to open that 'chatroom' on this site

and it is. but would anybody be remotely interested?

for instance saturday 10 december, 7 PM Uk time?

i know you might think what i wrote was stupid ...but what i meant was things like do you need a a webcam or a mic or is it just typed...like i said ive not done it before & these things will decide me whethter i do it

I'm up for it, but considering my track record, I can't promise that I'll remember!

The easiest way to take part is to do the following. Install opera browser http://www.opera.com/browser/download/ because it has a built-in chat client. Now go to mail & chat accounts in the menu, and create a new IRC chat account. Next you need to connect to the Freenode Europe server, which you'll see in the list, and join the room 'songwriting'

Sorry Ramshackles - hosting a chatroom on this server would be against the terms of use (they're very resource hungry...)

But you reminded me, you don't have to install anything to take part. You can use this web interface to connect at http://webchat.freenode.net/
Just choose a nickname, type 'songwriting' (minus the quotes) into the channel field, fill in the spam-catcher and click connect. Simple as!

hi Songwriters,

i am bouncing this post up, hoping to have a little chat on december 10th
just to see whether that works...

so far, Kafla, Tone, Tinam, Scorpio, RS, Stephanie and me have expressed interest

Perhaps others will also join? If so, let us know!

i would say, no fixed agenda, just to see whether we can contact each other, have a chat, that would already be an unprecedented succes 

clearly most of us have no experience or idea what the use of a chatroom is, or have used it before

so, i would say let the connection by itself, and any sort of chat among songwriters of this beautiful forum,  be the goal for our december 10th meeting, and see from there ?

i would like to stick to 7PM UK time, if that is ok, that would be 8 PM for the mainland...is that ok?

sorry  i didnt look at the calendar we have friends coming over that saturday they have young children so not sure what time they will leave i may have to join the chat a bit late!
