hi
i write ALOT : and it seems more like a compulsion than a will.
is there a syndrome - Compulsive Creative Disorder.
i have lost jobs and relationships due to this and it kinda feels like i am feeding a monster
i am looking company for this journey
Have tried various lifestyles changes/had a deal of therapy but on it goes
sleepng 3 hours a night etc
does this resonate ?

Hi Harry

What do you write, Lyrics, music (dots or chords), stories.....

Sometimes my inspiration for my songs is overpowering, keeps me a wake at night, I used to have the same thing when  I used to paint in oils, completely overtook my mind, but not to the extent of it affecting my relationships.

It would be useful to know whether you write AND COMPLETE lots of songs or whether you start writing a song and then move on to another before getting the previous one completed?

The second scenario is very common and this Doctor would prescribe 500mg of pure discipline (available at most good pharmacies - and some rubbish ones) to make sure you actually COMPLETE a song before moving on to the next (and there are lots of different approaches you can take)

If it is the first scenario then you may want to try and focus on improving the QUALITY of your songs to slow you down a bit - i.e. Write fewer AMAZING songs rather than loads of mediocre songs (I have no idea of your song quality so this is said as a massive generalisation)
