I wrote some lyricis and started to add some chords but to honest. - I think that I'm wasting my time because I've no idea what I'm doing

Mid life crisis

V1
I think I'm seventeen  again
Am.                                 A
standing in front  of the mirror
Am.                             A
practising my cheesy lines
G--------------------------
trying to turn back time
Em--------------------

Chorus
I'm having a mid life crisis
Am.                                A
I'm chasing girls  less than half my age
G--------------    Em------------------
When I should thinking
Am-------------------
Of saga holidays
A-----------------
V2
Sitting alone at the bar
I flash a smile at a teenage girl
young enough to be my daughter
her friends join her and there's no glance back

Chorus
I'm having a mid life crisis
I'm chasing girls less than half my age
When I should thinking
Of saga holidays

V3
My half full glass
soon becomes half empty
my optimism sinks quickly
just like the beer in my bottle

Chorus
I'm having a mid life crisis
I'm chasing girls less than half my age
When I should thinking
Of saga holidays

V4
I group of guys look my way and laugh
Probably at my 1980s jacket
who am I trying to kid
I shake my head at myself

Bridge
I'm having a mid life crisis
I'm not blind , I can see
but nobody wants to tell me

Chorus
I'm having a mid life crisis
I'm chasing girls less than half my age
When I should be  thinking
Of saga holidays

Out
Nobody sees me leave
my drink unfinished on the bar
I catch sight of myself in the mirror
I stop and stare just briefly

I know it's over
I know it's over

Perhaps try the other way around? Find a chord progression; Am, A and G is fine. Strum away and see what sounds right. Hum some melodies over, and see what sounds ok. Sometimes phrases just come. The words you have work with the chords you have, pretty much.  Try:

(Am) think I'm seventeen (A) again                       A
(Am) standing in front  of the (A) mirror
(Am) practising my cheesy (A) lines
(G) trying to turn back time

See what comes.

You shouldn't. Getting lots of positive feedback and you're helping to make songs. You're at the start of a wonderful journey.

Be nice to hear a version of what you have in mind - even just a verse and a chorus. The idea and the lyrics are well worth persevering with.
