I thought this was really interesting from a songwriting perspective - writing from the point of view of the characters from historic songs:

Esmé Patterson Speaks for the Women of Your Favorite Pop Songs: The Denver songwriter re-imagines songs like "Eleanor Rigby," "Alison," and "Jolene" from the female perspective.

Not everyone's musical cup of tea, there will be different opinions over the points of view taken, some fans may say "sacrilege", and an entire concept album may get a bit wearing...  But what a great idea.

Could even be an inspiration for a forum competition?!
