For a track from my new EP. Please check it out if you have time, it came out well (mainly cuz a friend of mine helped with the editing)

Lyrics:

What Do We Get If We Win?

We're stronger together we know and finally our goals are in sight,
Gather united as one, prepare for the ultimate fight,

It all sounds so noble and divine...
but what do we get if we win?

We must keep our focus and drive,
for heroes there'll be cheers and applause
As long as we keep our resolve and our unwavering faith in 'the cause',

It now seems misguided and asinine,
results in a waste of precious time...
and what do we get if we win?

I can't believe we've been so naive,
seeking purpose and guidance we embraced the propaganda machine,
It feels like I just woke from a dream,
I can’t remember how this started out, or what it is we’re trying to achieve?

We've come too far to turn back, although doubts have crept into view
it appears we lost sight of the prize, now we fight just for something to do

It sounds so self-righteous and contrived,
results in the loss of countless lives,
I know I've heard it said a thousand times;
"To give up without a fight would be a sin"
...but what do we get if we win?

I'm kinda a sucker for a clear repetitive hook, and the one line 'what do we get if we win' isn't enough for me.

Music wise, v nice, pace nice, voice good, but a little weak.

I think creating a memorable four line chorus would help a lot.

Best of luck with it

appreciate the feedback - Interesting point but unfortunately I've always favoured the less generic approach - this stuff is probably the most standard/typical sounding songs I've ever written and even these are a little odd!

I think this is brilliant!

You have a great voice and the guitar playing ( both rhythm and lead) is excellent. The quality of the production is first class. One of the best I have heard on this forum in a while!

interesting,
liking the off kilter rhythm, with guitar and drums providing a powerful canvas for your lyrics and vocals.
then fab guitar and middle section

Ha ha, cheers yeah, i always favour the off kilter/less conventional! Thanks for checking it out and glad you enjoyed it. The middle section was rushed and only finished just before i started recording... But its now probably my favourite bit!
