It's a fantastic interview. I'd have loved to see the interviewer while doing the interview and Quincy just dropping the most outrageous one-liner after the other. I bet he checked his recorder a million times just to make sure he really got it on tape!!!  ;D

I also read we only got the PG13 version, there's an even better one out there but too outrageous to print according to the interviewer!  :o

Heh. He's a character alright and with most characters it's best to enjoy the quote whilst realising there may be a tongue in cheek thing going on.  ;)

I read through the New York Magazine article. I liked the part about Coltrane. But a bit confusing about jazz being the best music because it has learned from all other music. Wouldn't (contemporary) jazz constantly become better by that hypothesis? But on the other hand EST might be better than Weather Report that might be better than Duke Ellington...
