Hi All

In preparation for the website upgrade and refresh of the rules I wanted to get some opinions on whether we should extend the "only post 1 song every 2 weeks" to the lyrics board

This would have the advantage of making the rules very simple - ie you can only post one song every two weeks in the FINISHED SONGS, WORK IN PROGRESS, and LYRICS boards

The rule applies to each board independently so you can still post a song in each board within 2 weeks

I think this would help with the consistency and application of the rule - as well as slow things down to encourage members to review others whilst they wait to post their next song

I am keen to get a general consensus, especially from those that frequent and contribute to the LYRICS forum more than I do

Hi,

I haven't been here long, but the Lyrics board is probably where I spend most of my time. I think a 2 week rule (or 1 week if that's too long) sounds like a good idea personally.

Two weeks is a long time....that could kill all activity. I'm in favour of a rule but 1 week at most

I'm definitely in favour of a 2 week rule.

This would encourage more diversity.  :D
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

And there you have it.

I think a limit would but good but I'm not sure if that would be better as one week or two. There are a lot of new topics going up but hardly any responses. It would be nice to see more interaction here (yes, I know I'm guilty of that too but I'm still easing my way through the doorway here). There is a lot more feedback in the finished/unfinished songs section. It would be nice to see some of that filtering down to this one too. Maybe holding new topics a little in check would help.
Then darkness fell
As the 1st God and the 2nd burned in hell
And all alone
Stood the 3rd God looking wearied to the bone

NO!

The reasons:
1. rules like that would mainly affect people like me who post irregularly - and fewer than one post every two weeks on average;
2. restrictions might 'choke' the general activity of the board.

Boydie,
if there was too much traffic then yes but I'd let continue with no limit. if it hit broke...
