Hi,

We've finished up a new tune and added a video to this one.

All and any feedback is as always very much appreciated.

Verse 1:
It only seems just like yesterday
When we danced the whole night through
Now it feels like a crazy dream
to have just one more waltz with you

You said you needed timeout
Then you vanished without a trace
Everytime I look at your picture
It brings memories that time can't erase

Chorus:
For the times I miss you most of all
I'm still waiting for your call
Again another year of silence

Sadness from winter till fall
The seasons make no difference at all
Again another year of silence
Year of silence

Verse 2:
I still remember the summer nights
When I just listened to your heartbeat
We took a long ride in my car
And then we kissed in the backseat

Yesterday I thought I saw you
Standing on the corner of dance floor
But my heart was quicker than the eye
It has happened so many times before

Chorus:
For the times I miss you most of all
I'm still waiting for your call
Again another year of silence

Sadness from winter till fall
The seasons make no difference at all
Again another year of silence
Year of silence

Bridge:
Now I'm staring at the candlelight
And I can't stop thinking about you
Have you ever though about me
Or have you found someone new

Chorus:
For the times I miss you most of all
I'm still waiting for your call
Again another year of silence

Sadness from winter till fall
The seasons make no difference at all
Again another year of silence
Year of silence
Years of silence

Hi Refused. Great retro rock you're knocking out here. Wow, those old album covers were always great for rolling a fat one. It was impossible to do it on a cd case plus you couldn't read anything. Viva the vinyl revival  :)

Hi,

I don't like to be negative but this didn't do it for me at all. The musicianship is not in doubt but the vocal sounded strained and unvarying in it's approach. I also struggled to hear any melodic ideas and the arrangement was predictable. Sorry to have to say but I always review songs that I start listening to and I can't like them all.

I'm going to have to disagree with Montydog. I love your vocals. They sound awesome to me. Your video made me smile. Nice record collection!

I can't quite put my finger on why but I get a strong feeling of 'European' from this one... something about the melody perhaps but it makes me think of bands like The Scorpions, those Euro rock bands. I thought the vocals were distinctive and had character. Neat bassline too, and playful synths. You've got some tasty records in your collection.
It's all too beautiful.

Love the video and some of those album covers take me back!

Solid track, has a very 70s feel ( I kept hearing "The Year of the Cat" in the verse chords).

I really like the backing, the chords are simple but good, the/playing/arrangement/production are all really great.

But I did feel a mis-match between the vocal style and the backing music - the vocal is quite full-throated and the band sounds so laid back. I wonder if the mix, with it's placing of the vocal in the distance, was an attempt to resolve this? At first I was going to say the thin vocal treatment was a shame (it sounds tinny while the rest of the production is anything but) - only then I realised that if the vocal was pushed more up front, the mismatch of styles would be even more pronounced.

Sorry I can't be more positive!

Hi Dude,

Track has a nice vibe, Vocals are cool but backing track needs to be a bit more punch.
I guess that's a production thing, I would have backed the vocals off a bit and put them back in the mix..

BUT, this is a songwriters forum not a Production one.

Song is cool, like the Technic 1210 too. Classic DJ wheels of steel. Takes me back.

Great work that man.

I actually think the vocal sound is great!

Having said that, the song itself felt a little predictable.

And by that I mean the chor progressions tended to always land on the down beats and the vocal melody mostly follows the chord root note.

There’s definitely something there, but I think more work on the arrangement is needed to put some life into it.

Cheers.

Paul

Yo RR.

I never watch a vid with a song as it distracts my tiny mind from the job in hand, which is listening.

I love the general feel and vibe of the song,it's very nostalgic and akin to the kind of music running underground and occasionally above ground in the 70s

Is Jambrains singing forya on this one? Sure sounds like him.  :D

I enjoyed the song overall.  :)
