Hi Folks,

The song is about losing your parents. The verse refers to my dad leaving me through abandonment in my teens and the chorus is my mum leaving me through death later in life. The verse is meant to sound darker and questioning yet with some element of acceptance. The chorus is meant to be more uplifting, reflective and thankful. Sorry for the heavy narrative but perhaps it's helpful to have context?

Verse 1
Strange time to leave me
No love to feed me
Nothing left to say

I loved you like no other
Now you’ve gone and blown my cover
Can’t get over you

What more could you say to set me free?
What more could you say to set me free?

Chorus 1
Seems like; nothings going to be the same again
Feels like; life goes on no matter what they say

Verse 2
Time is no healer
Beg, borrow or steal her
You can’t change a thing

There has to be reason
For this sudden change in season
Can’t get over you

What more could you say to set me free?
What more could you say to set me free?

Chorus 2
Seems like; nothings going to be the same again
Feels like; life goes on no matter what they say

Chorus 3
Seems like; nothings going to be the same again
Feels like; life goes on no matter what they say

Bridge
Life revealing
Two hearts scheming
Lovers dreaming
Still believing

Chorus 4
Seems like; nothings going to be the same again
Feels like; life goes on no matter what they say

Chorus 5
Always been around
looking up not down
Oh, life goes on
Oh, life goes on

Always been around
looking up not down
Oh, life goes on
Oh, life goes on

Chorus to Fade
combines both chorus melodies

WOW<pnb :o I love this song, and the vocals are amazing :o I think you've done a great job
of turning a really sad subject matter into a song that's very easy to listen to :)
I felt like the intro could be shorter ~ I wanted it to get to the vocals sooner, but maybe that's just me and it doesn't take away from the song at all :) I loved every minute of it :)

Really like this one ... the vocals are excellent and love the piano/keyboards. I think you nailed with the slightly sombre verse and more uplifting chorus.

Would agree that the intro ((great as it is) could be a little shorter, but this is a really excellent track, well done.

I love this. I don't normally listen to this type of stuff but it's fantastic. Immaculate production. I can easily imagine hearing this on a radio.

Hi, nice production , all the instruments were clear, vocals nice, and the arrangement and use of instruments was good too! Nice variation in the structure of the song. I'm guilty of this too, so I shouldn't say it, but it's probably a minute or so too long.
Excellent effort though!
Cheers

A brilliantly produced song, great melody and vocals. The only thing I would say is that the intro is a little too long before the vocals come in. Love that synth 80s sound.

Hi everyone. Totally understand the comments on the intro. Just a little self indulgent on my part. :-)

Thanks for all the feedback

Lovely ear tickling synths to start off sets the atmosphere. The synth riff drives it along really nicely. Top vocals for sure. Very good song in terms of composition, performance and production

I'm very much a fan and I absolutely love this. I completely disagree with the comments regarding the intro - I think it's inventive and really sets the scene; when the main vibe kicks in and the singing starts, it feels great and for me the intro is key in setting this up.

I would have liked the song to be just a bit shorter, but you did keep it interesting by varying the arrangement throughout.

The technical/production side is superior to anything I've heard so far on this forum, including mine; the arrangement is great; the choice of singer (I'm assuming it isn't you) is perfect; everything is played/programmed excellently. Very well done!

Yo pnb.

The song is pretty much the package. Good solid writing, fine vocals and slick production.

Perhaps a little on the long side if you were thinking of pitching it anywhere, but the length is fine for me,it wears it's almost 6 minutes fairly lightly.

Beautiful vocal. I think it could be about a break up, too. I wouldn't have thought it was about losing your parents if I didn't read your intro. That's a good thing. It gives the listener room for interpretation. Very relatable. Cool.

Definitely 80's sounding but then just about everything by me is!  ;D
