Hi all,

I'm new to midi instruments, but have realised they can take a song to the next level. I've tried looking at reviews, etc for guidance but most of what is written is gobbledygook to me. What I'm after is a Midi controller with which I can add drums, bass, atmospherics, etc. I use Ableton Live as my daw and have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 interface. OS is windows XP.
One that has caught my eye is the Akai Mpk 49.

Any help/advice would be great.

Cheers,

Digger

Hi Digger,

I use an akai mpk 88 so a slightly larger keyboard than the one you mention but the same really, I get on well with it, programme drums, bass, strings piano, guitar all sorts really.  The action is quite heavy on the keys that is the only drawback but apart from that no complaints!

Hope this helps
