Ok - So I uploaded some stuff and now have a release date pending. The model works on the basis that your songs will be distributed to the big online stores (Spotify, Deezer etc etc) and any revenue (ha ha !!!) that is generated is 100% yours. How they make their money is by the fact that they have access to all of the stats and can identify the next big thing and will then potentially offer them a deal. So OK for small fry such as myself as no chance of that happening. Don't know if its even worth doing TBH and it's all very much an experiment but it's cost me nothing and my music will be out there

That is actually a really interesting model

It does seem a bit of a risky strategy to develop a platform to discover that elusive "next big thing" BUT it is quite an innovative approach and may show a glimmer of hope for the "music" side of the music business as labels seem so risk averse nowadays - this approach should give the opportunity for the indie/underground artists to break through - let's hope that deal comes along soon POMPEYJAZZ  ;D

Don't know if what i'm going to say is relevant...but about 3 yrs ago i used Tunecore as an aggregator for tracks on spotify and itunes...anyway after 2 yrs i cancelled...their plan sounds good if you stream a lot, but other than that your paying them more than you ever get back.

So , recently i've just started to upload music vids to Youtube ...anyway i got a copyright claim against me, by non other than T/C. ...which i've contested as the rights owner...
Then i get an email from T/C greeting me as a new signup...not that i've paid .

No doubt it's all software tricks to get revenue wherever and however they can....my point is i suppose once you attach yourself to these companies,,they're hard to shake off.
