Hi guys - well I know the "horn" solo isn't that great, but anything else that needs fixing?
Does the key change work?
What instrument would suit better for the solo?

My Christmas wish-list isn't finished until I write your name down
And out my window I see the wind blow snowflakes around
They flutter by like butterflies - how they swirl all around!
Christmas flurries are in no hurry to fall to the ground

After our break-up I saw your plane off (we were the talk of the town)
I heard too often our love is lost and it will never be found
And though you're missing, I'm still here wishin our love's still driftin around
Like Christmas Flurries, in no hurry to fall to the ground

Now I'm focused on a frozen love
When I know that it's blown away
But it's suspended in frigid air
I can't pretend that it isn't there

And though you're missing, I'm still here wishin our love's still driftin around
Like Christmas Flurries, in no hurry to fall to the ground

Now I'm focused on a frozen love
When I know that it's flown away
But it's suspended in frigid air
We can't pretend that it isn't there

My thoughts are that the trilly country piano that starts the song shouldn't just pop in and out.....I'd keep in right through. The song has a great start and it's the mix of piano and guitar that sounds good I think.

The key change is ok...it gives it a different flavour, kind of what you might rather use as a one-off bridge, but it's fine if you're fine with it. The actual part there is nice.

Yes the trumpet is not great but can't think what else would do. Well I do have a thought actually. Too many instruments coming and going doesn't make for best cohesion...something that worries me sometimes. What about getting rid of the bicycle bells in favour of a bell-like instrument ie celesta or maybe even a mallet thing like vibraphone which can replace the bell sounds and could also be the instrument for the solo.
Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Sounds ok to me 'cept for the trumpet, reckon that part should be played by the piano,

Thanks gentlemen - all good points.
Think I'm leaning towards Kevin's sugg to use the piano for the solo.
I know it's xmas but I'm getting tired of bells TBH  ;D ;D

cheers for taking the time  ;D
