Apologies for lack reviewing lately but been up to neck in it :(
Haven't been able to do much songwriting lately either
So i'd thought i would upload a recent collaboration between Myself & Pompey Jazz called:

White Noise
https://soundcloud.com/pompeyjazz/state
Video:

Its pretty much music by Pompey and lyrics by myself.
I angrily scream the lyrics and Pompey puts it all together with his usual style and mix of genres.

I'll leave the meaning to it to the ears of the beholder ;)

Lyrics
It was all set up in a trendy London bar
The press were all there when you got out of the car.
As the evening ended, you made sure they didn't miss.
Your manufactured plastic smile and a paparazzi kiss.

But your life a'int real.
Your life a'int.
Your life a'int real.
Your life a'int real
Its just a game
its just a game
Better make the most of your 15 minutes of fame

Coz If we can make you
we can break you anytime that we choose

They see you - They hear you
but you're just a pretty face
They don't care what you've got to say
White Noise White Noise

You think you are important
and you want to save the world
but its just virtue signalling
White Noise White Noise - White Noise.

You're a strike-a-pose know it all
that doesn't know a thing
Jump on every bandwagon
and latest trendy whim
You'll say anything to keep your sham career afloat.
Ivory tower philosophy
You'll ram right down our throats.

You Say Too Much
you're out of touch
you're out of touch
You say too much
you say too much
you're are running out of straws that you can clutch.

Coz If we can make you
we can break you anytime that we choose.

They see you - They hear you
but you have lost your respect
always taking down to us
White Noise White Noise

You belong to a Snootocracy
That thinks that its knows best.
But were not listening to you
White Noise White Noise White Noise

They see you - they hear you
but you're just a pretty face
They don't care what you've got to say
White Noise White Noise White Noise

Many thanks for listening

Hi Morefrog, this is really cool man, was a really great poem even not having listened to the music yet! Especially for nowadays very relevant! lol ;)

The production on the song is excellent too, everything sits perfectly in the mix can't really fault it! Your voice is great and i really like the ladies adlib stuff too.

Think the tambourine/cymbals could have a little high frequency boost to get them a bit more splashy sounding but thats just a personal production preference :)

Solid work guys!

That piano takes me back to Italian house music - was expecting you to start singing "Ride on time" MFJ. But it soon becomes its own song and a funky hipshaker at that. Got these feet tapping... good stuff chaps.
It's all too beautiful.

Enjoyed the lyrics and there’s some super musical treats in there.

Sounds like it was quite a challenge to sing...seemed to go pretty low, then up quite high...so well done to MFJ for getting his chops around it.

Good sound and a very enjoyable foot stomper  :)

This is where the stones could have gone after their disco phase  ;D
Nice work - loved the piano riff especially and the MFJ vocals are top drawer as usual.
Production is damn good too.
Could use a haircut in length, but that's just me.

Enjoyed this one  ;D ;D

The relentless piano was completely appropriate for the story, which I really liked. Excellent singing.

I knew this was going to be good and was not disappointed. It nabs the best bits of the era of Happy Monday's, Charletans, EmF etc and runs with an infectious slightly dystopian anthem. Best bits are the rollicking piano and the defiant "White Noise White Noise " refrain in the chorus. It gets better with each listen too. Would want this on at the house party at the end of the world.

This is great fun
and inspiring.
Well done!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

And there you have it.

This is a sonic treat, nicely produced with tons going on all over the stereo panorama to keep the listener on their toes and engaged.

There's definitely a 90's vibe from the piano but it still sounds quite fresh.

The vocal melody was a bit too shouty for my taste but, that definitely is my taste and not an issue with the vocals. I wouldn't suggest changing this as I think the contrast between the vocal and music is one of the things that brings it away from a 90's dance retro piece.

If I was being super critical I would say that every now and then, one of the synths/organs sounds was just poking out eeeever so slightly harshly, but I'm only mentioning this because I know the high standards that Pompey has already set.

Very nice collab guys, and despite what I said, I think the vocals and music work well together.
