It's all too easy to get wrapped up in the wonderful array of VST instruments that are available these days, so I wanted to do something quite raw and raunchy  ;D

This is about the effect of technology on our lives

A big thank you to Neil C for providing me with some wonderful harp  :)

Hey John

You've outdone yourself again - awesome song!
Lots to like love - great guitars, drums, lyrics, harp etc etc...
It labours painfully just like heavy rock should!

Good stuff lads  ;D ;D

A stompin' great sound, man. Yeah you got big boots all over this.
It's got that We Will Rock You feeling.
Maybe the vocals were a little rough at the start,  but it soon hits that stompin stride and you can hear the leather.
That mouth harp is freakin' awesome, add the slide aswell and you got some  real When the Levee Breaks moments.
My kinda music - its raw, its loud, things get broken.
Stonkin'.

This is oily, dirty, grimey raaawwwk, man.
The sound choices in the verses in particular are awesome.
A good example of why sometimes a slower tempo can just be full of POWER. Slow is the new fast, I reckon.
A great ear-cleanser.
It's all too beautiful.

Aye...a geet big hackey menacing sound with a cuddy-load of attitude and lyrics that are liable to prove even more prophetic when we have the benefit of hindsight.

Another trail-blazer  :)

I have to admit on first listen I wasn't keen on the vocal...a bit too raw. As somebody else said it grows into the song as you go...and subsequent listens I got used to it.

Wonder if you should not start with the 'red and green' bit...just a thought. Verses with those couplets got more instant appeal so I'd start there and hit 'em with the 'red and green' later.

Funny Kmac suggests going down a tone....I think you were struggling a bit to get low enough on the 'ecostatic' bit so I'd go up a tone.

Nice harp by Neil but the guitar's the star here.

Power!

Big bang ending!
Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Awesome song Pompey. (Love how all your songs are so different!)

The stomping guitar and mouth organ are the stars for me. Like classic Led Zep but with a modern twist. Could possibly go up a tone on the vocals, possibly some more effects on them too. But whatever you do with the vocals, its that stomping riff that is what will grab the listener by the short and curlies!

Thanks so much everyone. The plan is to wait until my wife goes out and then re-record the vocals at full throttle maybe after a salt gargle  :) Up tone, down tone, maybe.  I'll have to see what happens  ;D

Hi Pompeyjazz, there's a big mixture of styles there in your cast iron melting pot. Insane!

This would be amazing played live and loud in a rock venue pub, loads of boozy punters soaking up the manic atmosphere you create. Untamed this one! Great lyrics too. Nice one.
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Nicely done,

I was watching videos about the D wave quantum computer last night and it's capabilities and applications are astounding and a bit frightening. According to its creator, in 15 years machines will be better than humans in every conceivable way.

You're definitely onto something with this one.

Mixed and blended with your usual finesse.

Loved the gob organ and the slide guitar and, don't take this the wrong way, but your voice had a particular 'I've been sucking on an exhaust all night' quality this time, that really lends itself to the track.

Good work.

Is sounds to me like rolling stone.. Not a band , but like object :D Slowly destroying everything in his way.
I can see it in Pub, I like it.. Maybe little less reverb??

Love the concept John :o A great heavy rock that seems to move along like some heavy machine....
like pacho said, "destroying everything in it's path" :o
Love the harp and raw guitar  :o Great lyrics! Can't wait to hear the vocals re-recorded :)
