Hi,
Like you've never heard me before...
Its an old favourite of mind dusted off. It was co-written and sung by the v talented Tim Cody https://app.recordunion.com/Profile/1287#.WiERUrZ0fR0.

Tear me up

I’d be the last one to pretend I’m a man of words
Or that I’m happier with friends than I am alone

But how, tell me how do I get through her door?
I maybe only second class
But before she’s even started reading me
She’s tearing me up
Whoa

If she would only take the time she would see
Take me to bed one night to help her get to sleep

Hey listen I’m no book of love but I’m sure
She doesn’t give me all she can
Because before she’s even started reading me

She’s tearing me up
Whoa
She’s tearing me up

And I need her to care but she doesn’t care at all
And I would pick her up but I know she’d never fall
Too strong for love
And I’m too weak to ask her why
Far too weak to even try
She’s out of love and I’m out of my mind
So I’ll hope everyday she’ll find other games to play

Nice melodies in this one : I love the unusual phrasing (accentuated by the way you have written the lines of the lyrics ) and Tim Cody has a great vocal style. Very much reminds me of China Crisis.

Nice job,

Kevin

Hi!
I like this! Can't really pinpoint certain qualities but the happy 80's sound has something to do with it.
Only one problem to point out. There is a sand paper like sound that comes and goes with the vocals. Can't be more specific. (I listened to the soundcloud version.)

All the  best,

Martin

It's pure pop sensation to my punk ravaged ears, man.
It's like from a time when pop wasn't so in your face, as I felt the backing was a little light and fluffy for modern tastes. But I cant deny there's some great pop moments here.
Send it back to the 80s and have a hit.

Hi Neil,

Silver Machine has covered what I was going to say. Strangely reminded me of Soft Cell/Mark Almond which is clearly a very good thing. Not my thing but it's a very easy listen and a beautiful production as usual. Nice collab.

Great melodies and super vocals, you two should do some more together.
Insistent bassline.
I think I'd have gone for a different synth patch for the flute-like sound, something a bit meatier and more analogue like the bass sound?
It's a very pleasant piece of sunshine pop nonetheless though and a big surprise for a Neil C post.
It's all too beautiful.

Great modern vibe Neil. I think this is very up to date. Reminds me of some Owl City stuff. Top quality all around  :)

I'm liking this.

I started off thinking it needed a less synthetic sound to match the melody and vocals but by the end it was working for me.

Great vocals and I liked the counter melodies. I might be tempted to try to get that whistle/synth type instrument sounding a little more natural but that's just me.

Good work, catchy chorus.

I thought this was a really refreshing listen. Yes...Buffalo Tim has a great voice...although I found the hissing from the compression or whatever on the vocal a little distracting...it's a lovely song. I got a tiny hint of "black coffee in bed" by squeeze at the start...which I love...so that was a definite plus for me...but that disappeared as fast as it came and we were left with a great, slightly 80's but still quite contemporary pop song with lots to like about it. Mr Connor hits the spot once again  :)

I'm a sucka' for this kind of material
Don't tell anyone though.

great fun, the drama of it!

Really sweet lyrics
favorite line:
"And I would pick her up but I know she’d never fall"

keep 'em comic', mister!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

And there you have it.

Nice one Neil - everybody hears their own decade in this - I can hear it playing on a 60's AM radio  ;D
Then Hall and Oates come to mind and I guess it has elements of the last 50 years in it  ;D ;D

Good work - writing and performing

OMG Neil! I love this song! It's just so darn 80's with a little 50/60 thrown in there as well :)
Boy this guys can sing...perfect voice for this track  8)
I love the unusual backing track...that syn-thy sounding bass is doing an awesome interplay, with what almost sounds like a recorder :) Very catchy melody!
Fantastic guys :)

This one certainly rises above the current crop of uploaded songs on the forum at the moment.
Has a certain star quality and is a good catchy tune........well sung and well produced.
