I just thought I would check in and say that I took the plunge and crossgraded to Studio One 3 Professional

So far I have got to say that it is AWESOME

I will jumping in with both feet and get the FaderPort 8 for full control surface integation

I did look at the 16 but I want a more neat & compact studio setup - and the banking of the 8 faders seems really well implemented so I don't think diving around the tracks will be an issue with 8 faders  ;D

I have bought Studio One - unfortunately I am away from my DAW at present, but I am looking forward to getting stuck in very soon.

Here is a great resource specifically for folks moving from Sonar to SO:

Also, the wealth of brilliant instructional SO videos is amazing.

I will be really interested to hear how you get on with FaderPort8. I've watched a few videos and I am not convinced it will speed up my workflow. I like the idea of tactile control, but I do so much through keyboard shortcuts. From what I have seen (and I'd like to be proved wrong) , with Faderport you often need one hand on FP and the other on a mouse.
