Here's a song I wrote. I was looking to write a song that captured the emotion of having a friend who's just gone off the deep end, and their life's a mess. you want to help them but it's exhausting. It's not for anyone in specific. I was looking to make the song build from tender into anger and frustration, and I tried to mirror that with a common theme that played throughout. Tell me what you think
Lyrics
Come On sit yourself down,
You can Bow Your Head
You've Been running me round
and you look half dead
you can spill your own guts
if you must
have I earned your trust
and If that ain't the case,
tell me how does it taste

Tell me how does it taste,
your fall from grace
Is it bad as it looks
or is it common place
did you fall in a rut
are you stuck
did they call your bluffs
and if that is the case,
tell me how does it taste

come and look me in the eyes
can you just try
do you have something to hide
or are you being shy
did you hide away
in a cage
built by sarcasm and rage
and if that is the case
tell me how does it taste
tell me how does it taste
tell me how does it taste

This is fantastic!!! :D
You've got a terrific voice and you play the guitar well. Good song structure and passionate lyrics. You perform with your heart on your sleeve and it was very emotional. Great job man, keep it up! :D

I just stopped by briefly to note your voice reminds me a little of Billy Field (who released "Bad Habits" in 1981). In my book, that's a good thing.

Hi!

I like your song. At first I was a bit annoyed by the echo chamber but I could not resist the song. Great voice. Bit Jim James. The instrumental part is a bit rough. Great lyrics. Easy to relate to.

Thanks for posting such a nice song,
Martin

Have you thought of putting mirrors on the wall's, could do with a bit more reverb in that room :D

I can't deny you have a good voice and I found the song interesting.

Forgive me for saying it but it did seem a little self absorbed though, rather than one to please the masses, especially with the video.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though and I probably will go back for another listen. I suspect this is one of those songs that reveals something different each time you listen.

I was captivated by this.
I'd say the performance trumps the song itself though.
Your voice sounded really top notch and you don't hold back on the emotion in the delivery.  Reckon you'd keep a crowd transfixed if you were playing in a bar or similar.
Intriguing way to shoot the vid too.
The song itself hasn't really lodged in my brain lyrically or melodically though, I guess because (to my ears) there weren't obvious hooks or choruses.
Undeniable talent behind this though.
It's all too beautiful.
