Hi Songwriters,

As a result of the Album discussion (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=14034.0), I took a task of trying to listen to a full album end-to-end in order to experience the artist's intent and emotional pathway the tracks order creates.

Amazingly, the first album which was shared with me by pompeyjazz was just what I needed.
He sent me to his artist page in bandcamp and I chose this album http://pompeyjazz.bandcamp.com/album/56-tricks

I listened to the whole thing, played along with my ukulele to some of the tracks and it ended up on 17th song which really gave some closure to the whole experience. (5th song - Life of Grime blew me away BTW)

The thing is.... I Want More! :)

If it's ok, please share with me in this thread your full albums. I would be very glad if you did.

Have a great day!

I have a few, but one is unfinished, and the other one I'm not as proud of, so here is this one. Hope you like it:

What do you do for a living? You see, as a writer, I sit at a desk all day, with my headphones on, and that is all I listen to... full albums. (Except in the car, on my long commute, I listen to shuffled tunes.)

So, find a place and a space that is conducive to full-album listening and it's a lot easier.

I'm a Software engineer. I intend to listen to each album with dedicated time with no multitasking involved. So no more than one album a day. :)
Have a great day!

I can highly recommend Todd's chicken on a bicycle and Alan's All the pretty flowers. Both very well written and presented and very enjoyable to listen to.

I discovered The S's album a couple of days ago and it's my new favourite.

So much great music on this forum!

Aww, thanks Tone!
This thread actually inspired me to put your album on again today and, as I already said, I really like it a lot.

I also post in a Facebook group called "What Are You Listening To?" where I, of course, put in more good words about the record.

I should release an album of my work. I have enough material to create several.  I guess I need a mentor as I haven't got a clue where to start.  ???

Yo 2tuoo.

This is an album made when I was working with Martin and Fiona. It's made under the name of Vance Magill, our two surnames. The project came about after the working band we were in came to an end. Martin did all the recording and it was the first time he and Fiona had worked on original material. It was also marked by my return to songwriting after nearly 20 years of doing nothing.

It was put together before I had the use of any recording tools of my own and comprises Martin on keys,Fiona on vocals,my son Colin on bass and myself on guitar and vocals. Boydie took care of the final mastering process. All the songs came through the forum at some stage and very often advice was taken from constructive reviews.

Martin still plays for his wages, but sadly Fiona no longer sings,so it's cool just to have a snapshot of our creative time together.

I hope you enjoy.  :)

Thank you, Tone - a lovely recommendation. Kind of thing that makes all the effort and time worthwhile for me. Needless to say, your current album is a thing of beauty.
