I wrote this one after checking the reddit pages for music submissions pages and noticed that there were no upvotes on any of the originals.

This clicked with me since I was looking for a live forum such as this one  but for some reason kept landing on forums which were dead for years with thousands of posts but latest updates were at 2015 in a good case.

Then I looked for BF groups and they were filled with self promotions and zero discussions

So here it is: https://soundcloud.com/emotion-motion/nobody-reads-everybody-writes-a-guide-for-internet-culture

Nobody reads everybody writes

Pre music
I’ll show you how it’s done man, You just post and become famous

Chorus:

Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes

Verse:

So many posts on reddit
So many songs on soundcloud
Videos on tube not trending
Creators post and feel so proud

Two thousand fourteen
Two thousand and nine
Abandoned blogs and forums
I guess everybody's gone

Chorus:

Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes

Semi-bridge:
(music stops)
Oh look I got 2 likes!

Verse 2
Fifteen thousand subscribers
Three upvotes per post
I guess everybody’s busy
Or just content overdosed

Tutorials and sites
How to videos inside
Everybody's an expert
On how to live online

Chorus:

Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Nobody reads everybody writes
Have a great day!

Really enjoyable! Fun and clever lyrics - you certainly have a point!

Has a real cool groove to it and you really nailed the vocal. And a nice little jingle on the guitar at the end.

Nice work  :) and welcome!!

Thanks for sharing

Darren

I think you've nailed internet culture. At least a large portion of it. This is perfect! I love it. I especially liked the reference to abandoned blogs and forums. So, so true!

I'm glad you found us! This is an awesome forum...the best one I've found. I look forward to seeing you around the forum on a regular basis. :)

I agree with Vicki. You will find readers (and listeners) on this forum. I enjoyed the listen. I like the sparse reggae Style and lyrically it's spot on. I've pretty much given up on Facebook now after what it was doing to my brain. The Silicon Valley capitalists are after our souls. But the Internet can be a good thing. You are safe in this forum with these people.

Cheers

Micky.

Just suddenly dawned on me that this is exactly how the internet is....

Good work on spotting this.

Funky tune, good lyrics and vocal is cool too.

One little thing from me is it could be a little tighter in places...but like the rawness of it..

Nice track that man.

Dont hear a lot of this on here so thats nice to listen to something different.

Hi Cawproductions,

I'm really interested in this comment. Can I ask you to expand on this, please? I really want to learn and implement fixes so technical details are very welcome!

Darren - thanks!
Vicky - Yeah, I'm glad I found you guys. No idea why but this forum had not popped up in my google search for quite a  long time and googling stuff is what I do for a living...

MickyPlankton - sometimes I feel the way I put it in the song but most of the time It's totally fine (I guess this is part of being creative - ups and downs non stop)

Redrhodie - 2 likes are twice better than usual!
Have a great day!

Yo 2tuoo.

Welcome to the forum man.  :)

I love your vocals in this, very Eddie Grant style.

Lyrically spot on,everyone greases their own wheels! Recorded music is pretty much worthless these days,we all get likes instead!  :D

Musically I loved reggae feel, even though there are a few timing issues here and there, they wouldn't take much to tidy up and would give the song much more impact.

Love it.  :)

So cool - short, sweet and to the point. There's not much variety in the backing but the guitar at the end really brings something and your different vocals really spice it up.

And great original lyrics - Google really ruined the internet, regular posting and SEO and all those tactics really push good quality content out of the way. (SEO killed the internet star?!)

So good - looking forward more from you!

Thanks Skub, I'll take this into account on next one

Adamfarr - SEO killed the internet star is a great subject. I was planning to write one on this subject but still haven't found an angle which can expose this in a way which resonates with non SMEs on SEO. Any Ideas are welcome!
Have a great day!

I thought this was great, like the vocal, bit of Eddy Grant as mentioned earlier, but also reminded me of Bob Marley at times.the music was great, I like the lazy feel when the timing is a little behind, and the humour in the lyrics made me smile.

Welcome to the forum, and I'm looking forward to hearing some more from you.

That's a big voice, man. I liked the absence of drums, how you used percussion instead.
Yeah it's got a rawness that I like to hear in music. Mix is a bit rough, levels were a bit erratic with the vocal and guitar volumes fluctuating, but like I said it's raw.
Perceptive lyrics aswell. Social media sites killed the forums.
As for "nobody reads everybody writes", yep everybody wants an audience.  I reckon we can make more money selling ourself as an audience than a artist.
Good stuff, man.

There's one helluva things that I like about this song. Originality, attitude, perception and one great voice.  Oh, I forgot to say the lyrics are spot on as well  :) Great stuff man  ;D

Oi oi

Nice to have you here.

When you spoke the first line I had flashes of Goldie Lookin Chain, which is fun.

Really entertainjng musically, gotta' dig a bit reggae and your vocals come through really nicely, good backing and constrast.

It's an interesting subject matter. My take is that the internet is either good for mass communication, or very intimate communication; bit struggles inbetween.

Excited to see what else you come up with.

Cheers,
Scott

Irie!
Enjoyed this greatly. Cool juxtaposition of the reggae vibe with a modern tech subject. The title is great and has a natural rhythm to it in just those 4 words.
Very interesting and fun, and had me skanking around the kitchen.
It's all too beautiful.
