Hello again, been some time since my last post, far too long. But time is getting harder to find.
Here's a goofy love song, hope you like it.

                               Did i tell you Honey.

                       You always leave
The chocolates that i like in the tray
                       And you don't speak
Unless you've got something to say
                       That sideways glance
Every time you buckle your shoe
                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i like about you

                       You feel for the losers
Even when you're on the side that wins
                       You're a soft hearted priestess
You always forgive me my sins
                       You put me to bed
When i've had, more than a few
                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i like about you

What you see in me is a mystery
I think you must be losing your sight
During the day, i hang upside down
I look better in the dark than the light

                       When you grab my guitar
You play it with a gentle strum
                       You're a cool alley cat
You know how to rattle my drum
                       You add plenty of spice
When it comes to stirring up the stew
                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i like about you

                       The way you stick
Your tongue inside an ice cream cone
                       That sense of humour
                       Drier than a desert bone
                       It's never one magpie
With you the count is always two
                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i like about you

What you see in me is a mystery
I think you must be losing your sight
During the day, i hang upside down
I look better in the dark than the light

You bake a cake for the birds
When the winter leaves a covering of snow
You find coins and kind words
For the people that have no place to go
                       That snowball fight
With the kids down the avenue
                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i like about you

                       You can't watch the news
You say the world has gone insane
                       You throw me my boots
And say lets take a walk in the rain
You paint pictures of the jungle
For the tigers that are stuck in the zoo
                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i like about you

                       Did i tell you honey
That's what i LOVE about you.

Great song!

Is it intended for 2 voice types or 2 singing styles?
I mean, it seems that the song goes in challenge-response style so the way it played in my head is Normal voice and then Telephone style response for every second line.

Also, this is your 666 post  :)
Have a great day!

   Thanks Man!
Never thought of it in those terms, but i see where you're coming from. Just a guy singing about the woman he loves. Thanks again for the thumbs up. Oh, and what's this obsession that people have with 666? and yes, i know it's supposed to be the number of the beast, but my feet are firmly on the ground.

Vintage....

So good to see you popping up again...

I like the direct style that you've adopted in this song....Concrete images growing out of the verses...
The chorus is surprisingly silly and funny!  A great counterpoint....

The form is just a little ramshackle but doesn't hurt the sentiment at all.....Another stellar entry in your efforts to describe life.....Well done!

I've been trying to ease my addiction to this forum. . . but this one bears a comment.

Very real.  A little too long. . . but I suspect the intent is to tell this story to one person, not a mass market audience. . . so it's entirely appropriate.

Love the sentiment.  Love the way the story is told.  Love how easily it takes a tune when I try to sing it.

A lot to like in this lyric, as is usually the case with your lyrics.

Hey Vintage

Solid lyric as ever.
Your wordsmithing skills have no limit  ;D
Now, the is a famous song called "That's what i like about you".
It's a common phrase I know, but maybe something different there would make this even stronger.

Enjoyed the read/sing
Paul

   Thanks Paulski,
Not familiar with the famous song you mention, perhaps you could enlighten me. Not that it would change anything, i'm already moving on. Can't be standing still, can't be looking back. But the input is greatly appreciated, and that goes for anybody who takes the time to comment.
