Easing myself back into the forum after a particularly busy spell with the EP, but back now and writing again. This is my ode to Brexit and feelings of being let dowm by our political masters. Any thoughts welcome.

Mike

All want is you
And everything I see
All I want is freedom
Someone to set me free
Hold me in your arms now
Won't take me by the hand

Walking under bridges
Hidden from the sky
Dancing in the shadows
Sleeping through the night
Falling through air, now
Slipping through your hands
Take me through the waters
From this forsaken land

Whoo hoo hoooo
From this forsaken land
[Repeats]

Picking up the pieces
Holding up the sky
Chasing after footsteps
Taken by the tide
Everthing has gone now
Can't you understand
That all that ever mattered
Was this forsaken land

Woo, hoo, hoo
Was this forsaken land

Bridge

You left me on my own
As soon as everything was gone
You took away my dreams
I guess you know now how that feels
You never tried understand
You never took me by the hand
I gave you love
I gave you life
And in return
You gave me lies

Whoo hoo hooo
Oh this forsaken land

Playing with my heart strings
Pulling me to pieces
Tearing me apart now
Fighting on the beaches

Goes into 2 part chorus...

Whoo hoo hooo
On this forsaken land

  Greetings Mike,
I'll take a stab at this, if no one else will. I have to say, it's well written in parts, though a little obscure. Not sure where you're coming from, for or against Brexit. Question, why do you feel let down by your political masters concerning Brexit, surely it was the people that decided. Don't get me wrong, i feel let down all the time, but this was a vote, a referendum. Please explain to this political fool what your intention was, perhaps others were as confused as myself, hence the lack of comments. An explanation, and the song may get the attention that i somehow think it deserves.

Hi Mike,

you've created a great set of images, ones that go with a sense of betrayal. The only line that does work for me is the title/refrain. It sounds like you're addressing a person during the verses but "forsaken land" sounds too impersonal. I want to hear something a lot more personal to the person who betrayed you.

Feel free to ignore me if you disagree.

Keith

Thanks guys.  I think it's just a stream of consciousness; having a pop at those who betray us. That could be someone cheating on us, a politician frustrating democracy by deliberately misleading the voter, as we saw with the Brexit. During the Brexit debate there were lies tokd in both sides, ib terms of the benefits and costs, and the rationale for the referendum in the first place. But mostly, I just wrote a series of lyrical portraits. Hope you guys are all keeping well.

I like it!

I love it when songs can alter their meaning if a still image shown next to them.
In your song - set this - http://www.cityam.com/assets/uploads/main-image/cam_standard_article_main_image/britain-politics-eu-brexit-660092874-58e31a49b81a7.jpg

i do think it needs tidying up
a bit

nice images

rough but it certainly has something

if your heart is in it
sharpen it up

please don't take offence
i mean well

rightly
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.
