New member - i'll post the odd review every now and again if i feel it can add value :)

This an old school rock and roll song written as a tribute to the rock chicks of this world.

The best recording  ive managed so far but still not doing the song justice imho, feedback appreciated.

https://soundcloud.com/lyndonsutcliffe/sensation

Heres the lyric...

she’s a rock and roll queen she’s a rhythm and blues sensation
all the places she’s been she always gets a standing ovation
she sways her body to the beat they yell and clap and stomp their feet
she’s living the dream she’s rocking all over the nation

hangin’ on your every word
the sweetest voice they ever heard
they’re all a flutter… with anticipation
oh baby baby can’t you see
the power you have over me
you got that boogey woogey rockabilly honky tonk vibration

with a shout and a scream she’s begging to please believe her
to the man of her dreams she never wants him to leave her
she holds her hands up in the air her head a blur of golden hair
she’s a rock and roll queen she’s a superstar sing a song diva

i’m hanging on your every word
the sweetest voice i ever heard
i’m all a flutter… with anticipation
oh baby baby can’t you see
the power you have over me
you got that boogey woogey rockabilly honky tonk vibration

instrumental / solo until….
she holds her hands up in the air her head a blur of golden hair
she’s a rock and roll queen she’s a rhythm and blues sensation

she’s a rock and roll queen she’s a rhythm and blues sensation!

I like honky tonk when I'm in the right mood (even though I'm not a country fan).

I don't really have any constructive feedback for you at the moment, but I'm wondering if you noticed how similar some of your song is to Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter"? I don't know that's enough alike to be a problem, but it was close enough for me to recognize it. I always get excited when I recognize something. It doesn't take much to get me excited....  :P

Sorry I don't have time right now to do a good job reviewing this. Hopefully, you'll be around the forum awhile and I'll get a chance at another one of yours eventually.

Best wishes,
Vicki

Hey firstImpression first off a cool welcome to you   8)

Im no good at this feedback thing mate so im just going to go with my thoughts, vocals are good but they sound like a second or two late coming in, i need to ask are you playing guitar, if so then try together on one track just to get the feel of the flow, its the flow that will bring vocal guitar together.

I like your style man but you need to bring it together   8)

Hi Lyndon and welcome to the forum.  Don't worry about leaving your views on other members songs as this is what this forum is all about. You've got a very good voice and I can hear where you're coming from. Mix was a bit muddy but no problem.  A good song . If you jump in and review a few songs you will get some really useful feedback from the guys on here

Hi
Thanks for the warm welcome and feedback.
Well spotted re the slight synchronisation issue - this was an 'audacity' error and voice now shifted back by about a second against the backing track.
Not sure I quite get the Loretta Lynne reference.
Anyway I'll continue posting every now and again.

Lyndon,
Hi and welcome,
Getting the tune in the old school blues and rock'n'roll. Is it written about someone in particular?

I think my comments would mainly be around production -apart lacking a guitar in the slot :-(
I don't know how you recorded this and you mentioned that you're on journey there.
It sounded like you recorded a backing track and then sand live over it and recorded it? So the vocal sounds like its distanced from the backing and later on in the song like you've got so latency to your out of time, which I'm sure is a technical issue.

If you want some help I'd put a request for support in the recording thread explaining what your set up is.
Hope this helps
 :)
