Hi this is 'Broken Glass' a rather enjoyable 50/50 collaboration between Pompey Jazz and Myself, who joined forces to produce this - an attempt at a Indie crowd pleasing anthem .........so get your lighters out and have a listen to: ;D

Lyrics

Drive me to distraction - just get my reaction.
Do you really mean all the silly things that you say?
You know that I feel your pain - wanna help you through the rain.
But you've got to give me - Something to hold on to.

So tell me what you want me to do and I'll walk over broken glass for you.
Tell me what you want me to say and I'll chase all your troubles away.

Yes your thoughts are quite hazy - but No I don't think you're crazy.
I don't want to lose you but I'm scared of what you might do.
I'm not here to be clever - I'm here for ever and ever.
But please give me a reason to believe in you.

So tell me what you want me to do and I'll walk over broken glass for you.
Tell me what you want me to say and I'll chase all your troubles away.

But You always leave me hanging - Crush my hopes in vain.
But I would walk on broken glass.
Just to see you get well again.

Thanks for listening - comments welcome.

My favorite thing about it was the singing. But with that awesome voice, I found myself longing for weirder lyrics, and things left more vague. But that's just me! I'm pretty sure I'm not your target audience. Haha. I think you've achieved exactly what you set out to with this one.

Hey this leaves the starting grid looking like a winner all the way guys.
The voice is magnetic, dude! It's well played, I was digging some of that excellent soul guitar going on, and the electric piano/guitar combo at the end is uptown and outta sight!
Can I have permission to murder this in the shower? I cant sing and it might be Hitchcock, but when a song takes you you gotta go with it!

Yo MFJ and pomps.

This moves like Jagger.  ;)

With a hint of Bowie and a dash of Gabriel.

A powerful collab.

Well, this an interesting little listen - I guess it's kinda 90s, but that's after my time, so I'm no expert! Very well played, strong vocals which draw you in and compel you to listen somehow, and lovely use of the full stereo field in the production. I love that retro keyboard sound and the guitars are top notch.

Great collaboration guys, well done!

Very enjoyable listen guys. Big solid groove when it really kicks in after the verses. Nice.
And love it getting funky in the last vocal bit and through to the end. Guitars sound good.

Chorus gets me more second listen.

Great vocals Morefrog.

Great sound boys.
Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Great to be working with MFJ again  :) I'm always in awe of those amazing vocals and loved this song from the first time I heard it in WIP.

Great driving song guys.
Love the vocals and drums especially.
Seemed like the bridge was a little late - think it could be a bit shorter in length.
But I enjoyed it to the end anyway  ;D

I’m a massive fan of both John and MFJ and this absolutely doesn’t disappoint in any way, despite my very high expectations.

I won’t ramble on...I just think it’s a great song, very well done  :)

Sounds really good guys, the voice reminds me of the singer from Foster the People.
This could have just as wel been one of their more down low songs IMO.
Really great, the synths sound awesome too.
Keep up the good work.

Like it guys,
Got that Manc  mid tempo swagger.
Great when when the drums kick in and you do the high aaha's.
like the breakdown at 4.00 and e piano break and messy ending
Rocks along nicely
 :)

Lovely widescreen sound to this. Stonesy vibe and MFJ's vocals are as captivating as ever.  The percussion felt perfect. The keys solo at the end was a nice treat too.  Another round of applause to to you fellas.
It's all too beautiful.

Thanks for all the replies everyone - I think PompeyJazz did such a good job that no one has really made any suggestions or comments that the song needs revisiting - so we will put that one down to a successful collaboration i think. :)
