Hi this is a collaborative effort between myself and Pompey Jazz, who has turned a part song posted in the WIP section by myself into a funky little dance number.

Version 2

Lyrics

I can't think of any good reason why I should love you tonight.
But I can think of millions of reasons why I should just walk through the door........right now.

'Cause I just can't love you baby ( x 4)

'Cause its a no win situation
Its an ill wind that blows no good.
its a no win situation
its a no win situation for you and me.

No good can come of this for sure
we need to just come to our senses
and think about the consequences
and just walk through the door....right now

'Cause I just can't love you baby

'Cause its a no win situation
Its an ill wind that blows no good.
its a no win situation
its a no win situation for you and me

'Cause its a no win situation
Its an ill wind that blows no good.
its a no win situation
its a no win situation for you and me

Thanks for listening :)

Even though this is not really the type of song I usually listen to, I liked this track! The title is already promising, the lyrics are strong and the production is spot on. I thought the beginning with the nicely built-up intro was very chill. Good job!

Groovy as a freshly-ploughed field viewed from a hot air balloon.

John brings an extra dimension to this with his instinctive grasp of genres...he's a proper genius...and his enthusiasm, coupled with MFJ's more world-weary approach and indie style makes for a really interesting mash-up.

Cool track, fellas  :)

Well its a funky little number. I'm kind of in the mid 90's
I have a few thoughts about the mix: its a bit top heavy, I would like to hear more of the bass and perhaps tone the vocals into the track a bit more so its part of it rather than sit on top.
Cool guys

Absolutely love this. It's part funk, part 90s house, and part Mark E Smith. In short it's genius. Well done chaps.

And just listened another time. It really reminds me of the vibe from the Fall album Infotainment Scan, which in my opinion is one of the best albums of all time. Stunning achievement lads.

Yo Micky and John.

It's like a funked up 'Satisfaction'.  8)

Both of your individual styles shine through, perhaps that's the measure of a good collaboration?

I agree a little with Neil on dropping the vocals a bit into the mix, they are a bit in yer face on my cans, but maybe that was the intention.

Anyway..details don't detract from a fine joint effort.  8)

Ohhh;

good punchy drums and bass.

I think the vocals are too loud and reverby.

like the funky guitar.

cheers

Yeah, a real melange of influences and styles...
I involuntarily pursed my lips and nodded when that wet-sounding funky guitar came in.  Lip-pursing is always a good sign.
I also liked the vocals in the chorus a lot - that simple repetition of "No Win" is very hooky.  I'd like to be 19 again and listening to this waaaay too loud in a club.
Bit of Depeche Mode going on in the sound effects too?
It's all too beautiful.

What an absolute pleasure to be able to work on this with Morefrog. As soon as I heard it in WIP I had to get my mits on it  :) Cracking song writing with lots of feel  :)

Not a genre I know much about for sure! I really like the way the guitars and electric sounds met. I did think perhaps some distortion/saturation on the bass could help it cut through perhaps?

It could be slightly plain melodically to be really memorable but all the textures and rhythms make it super enjoyable in the moment, and very much in line with the style you were going for. A cool colab.

Hi guys, nice funky collaboration. Vocals a bit too loud as others have already commented. Needs more bass end, but could be a really great little number. The vocal styling works well!
Good stuff guys!
Cheers
