Hi, worth a listen just to hear Skubs blinding lead guitar....
huge thanks to him for bestowing his talent on one of my songs..
if you take a listen, I thank you..

https://soundcloud.com/knmac/fire-within-by-knmac-ft-davy-vance-skub-on-lead-gtr

You know the truth,
you know the saying,
there is no smoke,
unless the fire,
burns within,

You take the weight,
you run the gauntlet,
the night we spoke,
I never knew what,
would begin,

If you need me, I'll be there, I'll be there,
If you need me, I'll be there, I'll be there,

You know the secret,
you see the doorway,
the key is in your heart,
to lovins sweet ballet,

You make the journey,
you count the reasons,
you know my love,
is the demon,
you desire.

If you need me, I'll be there, I'll be there,
If you need me, I'll be there, I'll be there,

I know you need,
you need a reason,
a reason to believe,
in me.
all through night,
I lie awake and listen,
I listen for a love,
to be.

Guitar solo..

If you need me, I'll be there, I'll be there,
If you need me, I'll be there, I'll be there,

best, Kevin :) :)

Hi Kevin

This is a really great track! Good lyrics and vocals! The chorus is nice and catchy....and some fab work on production. I think it would be a great song without the guitars but the fab guitar work takes this one to another level. I wish I had skills like his

Thanks

Darren

Damn that guitar  ;D
Also I love these lyrics: You know the secret,
you see the doorway,
the key is in your heart,
to lovins sweet ballet,

If you want an improvement point, I'd suggest more of a story in the lyrics than just feelings but I really like it :)

Super synth sound intro, love the bass sound great melody and vocals. There are some great touches of light and shade and that guitar really does move it up to another level. Nice work Mr Skub  :) This is very very good Kev. One of your best in my opinion  :)

Hi guys, nice collaboration! Love the intro and breakdown chords and sounds. The verses drive along nicely with the guitars. Typical easy to access melody and well sung as usual Kevin. Skub's guitar embellishes the song very nicely adds sparkle and polish. Great lead tone too!
Good stuff guys!
Cheers

Top quality all the way.

Unmistakably yours, with Skub's guitar the icing on a very tasty cake.

Sounds perfectly produced and puts my stuff to shame...how do you do it?  :)

Ebbs and flows really nicely too. Has a kind of fantasy movie feel to it, I thought...and is excellent.

Yo Kev.

I loved the song from the moment it interfaced with my hearing receptacles,it's a real ear worm for me.

Working with Kevin is a real eye opener,he knows exactly what he wants for his song, his focus is intense.
I'm a little more haphazard,but we found a working middle ground.  :D

Definitely my favourite of yours so far and that has nothing to do with my little contribution.

It was a pleasure.  :)

What they said - cause my words can't describe the awesomeness of this  ;D
This to me sounds like a song written by one of the top song-writers in the world and performed by the best studio musicians in the world and produced ... well you get the picture.

I humbly bow in deference to the talent on display here.  ;D ;D

Hello

I think the electric guitar has been over used like a 'someone else is playing on it and they are good so use it a lot'. It overwhelms the singing which which has a retro 80's feel like Q Lazzarus which I like and should be more centre stage than the guitar show boating. If the guitar was kept 'rarer' so when the singing was in place it was more rhythm than lead or not at all in more parts then when it came in it would be more of an 'event'

someone else was playing the guitar and they were good so that's why it's all over the song...it's just that kind of rock song.. ::)
i appreciate your frank opinion..thank you :) :)

Top notch vocals, and guitar from Davy. The production is as smooth as silk and it could so easily slip in to the most recent Mike and the Mechanics album unnoticed - which I love. I was expecting the choruses to go "up" a tone or two if I am honest, they sounded just a little too similar to the verses to my ears.

Hey Shadowfax and Skub, super professional sounding track.  The guitars are windswept Whitesnake-style tasty embellishments in my opinion and the vocals are very solid too, and I also like the percussion a lot.   My one suggestion was going to be the same as Bill has just written - I think it would help the choruses "fly" more if you reached up for some higher notes in the melody, since the choruses start on the same note (I think) as the verse.  Other than that minor suggestion, top quality stuff.
It's all too beautiful.
