A bit different from me. I found a lovely vibraphone sound with my keyboard software and that let to a jazzy inspired little number.

I suppose the lyrics are really about battling through tough times and hopefully getting to the other side, keeping optimistic when sometimes that's really difficult.

All critique much appreciated as ever  :)

Shout It from the top

Oh, we can summit any mountain
We can climb it up and shout it from the top
All of those who contradict us
We can show you that were never going to stop
An alternative dimension
Changing thinking and a different way of life

Open up your heart and let the sun shine in
Don't need to tell you, you'll feel it all begin

We'll look down from on the mountain
Opportunity to shout it from the top
Don't need anyone to tell us
Let me tell you, Hey well we ain't going to stop
Yes we made it, yeah we really reached the top

Open up your heart and let the sun shine in
Don't need to tell you, you'll feel it all begin

Swingin', man! Very cool.
Jazz is a lady of many moods and I think you found her in a good one here.
Hey, groovy sax!
I can see some swinging 60s TV dance troupe interpreting this with ribbons and mustaches.
I wasn't too keen on that kick sound, it just seemes wrong for the jazz vibe yknow?
Yeah, positive lyrics.
Hey you brought a bit of happiness into the world man, God bless you!

Yo pomps, hope you had a good break.  :)

I wasn't expecting this at all. I reckon you are still stoned and chilled from too many recreational pharmaceuticals and the associated debauchery it all entails.

Amirite?  :D

Quite a late 60s vibe, the chilled vibe works well with the upbeat message. Guru Johnny Pomps, hey that's what drugs do forya.  8)

Far out man and just plain niiiice....now where did I leave my bong...

Really enjoyed this, John...that is a lovely sounding bong-thing.

I thought the melody was sweet and suited your excellent vocals really well. I thought the kick drum worked very well to drive the other section of the song along and make it stand out more.

Cool 😎

I just have to say "thank you" to you for this one Pomps.  I was walking along in town feeling kinda blue today and this just sorted me out, like a friendly pat on the back when it came on my cans.  Really nice vibe, you should do more in this jazz influenced style (but don't give up the new wave bangers too though!).
It's all too beautiful.

I looove this. Such a cool laid-back vibe. Makes me think of martinis and melancholy moods. The production is lovely, and I always enjoy listening to your vocals. Really cool sax too, wow.

The main vibes motif is really nice and is the big stamp for this song...for me. I'm not sure it should be doubled with whatever you've got it doubled with...kinda loses its impact a bit...gets drowned out...I love that motif but prefer it right at the beginning and right at the end when it's on its own and sounding bloody lovely!
Whatever that other instrument is could play some other line maybe....hell I'm no expert just telling what I felt..

Great sound though and lovely feel to the song throughout.

Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Can I start by saying that the the vibraphone is up there with my least favorite instruments of all time? Not its fault necessarily, just like the banjo it has been misused so many times in so many unforgivable ways.

That aside, love the effortless Summery mood of this one - and that triumphant sax solo is too good. Nice splashy drums. BVs just right. Another genre cracked?!

Love the videophone - very underused instrument but very effective here. The sax break is gorgeous also but the revaluation for me was your vocals - absolutely stunning singing throughout which completely made the song. Some very beautiful instrumental moments throughout and the blend with your voice was captivating.

Loved it.

So the Pompeyjazz label is now releasing Lounge Music! And very fine stuff it is!
Actually it has  a lovely soul vibe in there with the jazziness. Very classy John, and done with flair.
Music like this definitely attracts a better class of listener!  ;)
The sax solo is fabulous
Those vibes sound like sleigh bells at times , so could be a surprise Christmas hit!  :)
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)
