Just a rehearsal recording. Lead guitar player was out, so just a trio. But it let us get a little tighter.
Let me know what you think...
(Now with lead guitar)

Taking it into the studio next month.

LYRICS:

1.
Well I’ve been tied up
Now I’m tied down
And I’m tangled up in knots
But you know, it ain’t the worst place I could be
‘Cause I’ve been busted up
And broken down
And lost everything I’d got
But now I’ve got someone to share their debt with me

2.
Well, I owe a lot
She owes a lot
And we’re never catching up
But I’ve never felt the need to save my face
We know we can’t keep up
To what we’ve never caught
And, besides it’s way too late
But now we’re old enough to know this ain’t no race

(bridge)
The Joneses were born with spoons in their mouths
So they could pay for their head starts
And their daddies all strapped rockets on their backs
But we could barely pay our entry fee
So when the gun went off
We were left behind—at the back of the pack…

3.
And now we can’t keep up
To what we’ve never caught
And, besides it’s way too late
But now we’re old enough to know this ain’t no race

Great track mate! Loved the rhythm and melody...bounced along nicely :) would benefit from the lead guitar I think just to spice it up a little so be interesting to hear it when they're back. Perfect length....could not quite make out the lyrics but I'm sure they're good!

Look forward to the studio version

Take care

Darren

Thanks so much Darren! Thanks for listening and for your comments.
And, since you mentioned it, I just posted the lyrics back in the original post.
Again: I really appreciate the time, your ear, and your thoughts!

....and excellent lyrics they are! It is a really catchy tune and the vocal is real nice. I come back to check the lyrics but have found myself listening to the song a few times. Easy to listen and get into! It just bounces along and I find myself bouncing with it :P this would be great live!! Few beers and away we go!

Had another rehearsal last night, and this time the lead guitar player came along.
Posted the link in the first post, up there.

Great stuff Pop! The lead guitar was excellent and adds an extra layer to the track, which in my opinion is a great tune. Very bouncy and fun and catchy too. Be very interesting to hear a produced version of this.

Thanks for sharing buddy
