Opening BRIDGE:
Time stands still when the world stops turning.
Holding a bomb with the fuse still burning.
Trapped in the path of a holocaust yet to come.  (Yet to come.)

VERSE:
There's a freight train coming down the middle of the track,
A whistle blowing to warn us.
Choose to believe, or choose to deny,
That train is still gonna come.

PRE-CHORUS
We never, never, never, never, never look ahead,
and you know we don’t like looking back.
We simply deny there’s a train comin at us down the track.   (that track)

CHORUS:
We live in the moment like the moment could protect us
from the danger that will come.
We turn from God, we laugh at the devil,
We might as well be saying Bring it On.
(Bring it on, Bring it on. Bring it on.)

Verse:
We want to believe that it’s never gonna end.
Hear no evil, we prefer to pretend,
But when that whistle blows, it’s a pretty safe bet. (Oh Yeah)
That the train will soon be coming around the bend.

Verse:
It could all be prevented if we opened up our eyes,
we could just step off of that track.
But if history repeats, there’s a holocaust coming back.  (Coming back.)
like a freight train coming down the track.

Pre Chorus:
We never, never, never, never, never look ahead,
and you know we don’t like looking back.
We simply deny there’s a train coming at us down the track.  (That track,)

CHORUS:
We live in the moment like the moment could protect us
from the danger that will come.
We turn from God, we laugh at the devil,
We might as well be saying Bring it On.
(Bring it on, Bring it on. Bring it on.)

BRIDGE to out:
Those who won’t learn history are doomed to repeat it.
We refuse to examine what we’re headed for today.  (Today)
They say ignorance is bliss, but it’s not true.
We refuse to see there’s a holocaust, and it’s headed for me an you.
Me and you.  Me and you.  Me and you.

We refuse to see there’s a holocaust, and it’s headed for me an you.
Me and you.  Me and you.  Me and you.

Hi Verlon,

great set of lyrics, tick all the boxes for me. Reminds me of Dylan's Slow Train Coming. Not in a copycat way but in the way it creates similar images in my head.

Will you be putting this to music?

I have a kind of frenetic, beat driven score for it, but I'm not really sure it's right for the song.  It works, but could be better.  I AM pretty stuck on my vocal melody for it.  If you'd like to hear the vocal melody and tinker a little, I'd love the collaboration.

Hi Verlon,

I've sent you a PM. I'd love a collaboration but life's a little complicated at the minute.

   Hi Verlon,
Thanks for cheering me up. I don't believe it's your strongest lyric, but it says what it needs to, and has it's strong points. If you'd taken your time with it, instead of rushing it out so quickly over five years, i'm sure it would have been classic, (sorry!) As i said, worthy, but not great, and i hope the Holocaust takes longer than this did to get here.
