Hi all,  a song about the internet and everyone always being on it..if you take a listen, I thank you :) :)

https://soundcloud.com/knmac/surreal-world-by-knmac

In the distance through my lens,
I cannot see the end,
through the mist of time we fly,
untill we say goodbye,
I know we've known this so long,
we still don't know the way,
the wind of change is so strong,
we dare not disobey.

Don't..ever believe,
the way that you see,
you lose.. reality
your world is surreal,

If your senses make you feel,
there's more to be revealed,
in a virtual state of mind,
your life will be defined,
I know we've known this so long,
we still don't know the way,
the wind of change is so strong,
we dare not disobey.

Don't..ever believe,
the way that you see,
you lose.. reality
your world is surreal,

in the distance lies the end,
your life is all pretend,
in a virtual kind of world,
your future will be burned,

Don't..ever believe,
the way that you see,
you lose.. reality
your world is surreal,

Different from you Kev. Love the thumping synth beat and nice sentiments in the lyrics (But I'm on the internet now writing this review !!!)

Clever arrangement. like the backward type backing vocals. Reminds me of Depeche Mode in some ways with touches of Erasure thrown in. It's a great dance track.

Excellent production as ever which is what we have come to expect.

Nice one man  :)

Yo Kev.

'Tis a bangin' choon maaan.  8)

One of the things that amazes me with your songs is,they are usually on the long side, yet never seem drawn out or overblown.

That's some trick mister.

The changes and the tides of rhythm carry the listener and time is seemingly irrelevant.

Our world is so real, our world is surreal, our world is so real, our world is surr......

Very very nicely done, Kev

Cracking dance track...quite hypnotic, that bit at the end, especially...

Hi Kevin

Well, I was hearing Tangerine Dream but Depeche Mode works too.

I always enjoy immersing myself in your music. There's a beautiful sadness present within your songs (Or is that just my interpretation?) which I really like. Vocal harmonies are spot on as usual.

I wish I could get the arpegiated bass and the drums to sound as good on my tracks!

Hi Kevin. This is in my opinion one of your best songs to date. I think the lyrics are excellent and thought provoking, but the skillful way you have built the dance anthem around the slow vocal delivery is very impressive. Very good job. My only criticism would be that the diversion from 3.00 to 3.25 is unnecessary and the song would be more powerful without it.

I love the pulse and feel of this - I agree with the Dépêche Mode comment. Your voice works so well with this instrumentation. My favourite bit is the female backing effect - very original and imaginative as is the whole track. One of your very best.

So, how is not top 40 current material?
Has all the elements - catchy, repetitive (in a good way!) hypnotic, dancable, lyrically solid (maybe that's why - most top 40 has crap lyrics  ;D)
Vocal production, everything else is there.

On second thought this is too good for top 40.  ;D

Good song

Very descriptive lyrics which helped me to visualize the scene ,especially "the wind of change is so strong,we dare not disobey".What was the Enigma like effect on the vox that went ehhh ehhh ehhh ?

Some great sound effects / production touches Kev and an entrancing, hypnotic song in many ways.  I think I could listen to that baseline effect going round and round for hours.  A good blend of a synth dance track with lyrics that actually mean something.
It's all too beautiful.

Oh my! I love the synths and percussion on this. Such a great, danceable backing track. I'm a sucker for that programmed percussive synth sound. The fast track coupled with your slow vocals work very well together. The backing vocals are superb! That robotic sound is great. They remind me of Grimes. You should check out her last album Art Angels if you haven't before. There's some stuff on this track that really reminds me of that album (which I like a lot).

I would love a crash course on your vocal sound. Love the delay and reverb and general crispness you always have. I feel I'm just getting started on vocal production.

Usually I would say this song is too long at almost five minutes. But it's a dance track, and dance tracks go on, so I think that's actually a strength. This is one of my favourite of yours I have heard. I feel like I say that to you a lot, which can only be a good thing!
