Hi guys,

Not sure if its too late yet

Wanted to write a summer anthem, so here it is,

Ok it wont win any songwriting and lyric comps, But is got a bangin beat and if it makes you get ya hands in the air, sorted, I hope it makes people feel like summer is here.

https://soundcloud.com/cawproductions/living-it-up-for-the-summer

Lyrics: Andy Haigh/ Rosanna Eastman
Soundtrack: Andy Haigh (Cawproductions)

Enjoy and crank up the summer.
...................................................

You've been away from my heart
for way to long
and my heart is a beach
that you can lay on

Summer is my heart beat
Pour your water on me

We'll be living it up for the summer
Living it up with you……
And We'll be Living it up for the summer
I want to feel your love...

Summer crush made me blush
its been too long
Take us here just for me
and I wont be long

Summer is my heart beat
Pour your water on me

We'll be living it up for the summer
Living it up with you……
And We'll be Living it up for the summer
I want to feel your love...

Well, rules are meant to be... spoken?

In the competition or not. Your song has it's moments.
It is kind of the opposite of my entry.  :)

Yo Andy and Rosanna.

I'm not much of a fan of nightclub music, though I do like some of the stuff that rises above the karaoke/memory stick genre. Quite like some of David Guetta's stuff in a limited way.

The track was well produced and ticked all the boxes required for the task.

very contemporary sound and great production

vocals are very nice!

i like the way it changed gear around 2:00 too

mission accomplished...i can imagine this pounding out from a club somewhere in the early hours...which reminded me of a time when my mate and i parked our wagon in a carpark in southend that was (unknown to us) right next to a nightclub and when some essex geezer rolled out of the club and started banging on the side of the wagon as he went past singing "i can feeeel it" at the top of his voice around 1:30 AM and woke me up...i wearily wound the window down and had a brief but very colourful exchange with him about what else he might be about to feel if he didn't shut the F*$K up

all them pesky youngsters having a great time while i'm living it down...grrr  :P

Banging (do they still say that?)
heart of stone, feet of clay, knob of butter

WOW! 2 club style dance tracks in a row!  :o this summer comp is bringing out the best in us, although you may have missed the deadline  :(
Totally got me moving, and flailing my arms about, so that's a good thing :) The vocals are really good, as is the backing track :) Got no nits, but this is not a genre that I know much about :) Great song!

Guys,

Love the comments, a whole range.

Crystal suzy:
Dance tracks, when summer comes and the suns out its time for beer and loud music, must have been the heat that got to me in my old age. Takes me back to my DJ and Breakdancing days tho, may need tracktion if I try that now. Anyway, what harm can come from arm flailling......good times

Paulads:
Ha that guy could easily have been me bangin on your window and yes, I would have said the same to him....Kids having all the good times.....Bah.

Skub:
Thanks, Its an acquired taste....

Martinswede:
didnt know it was a spoken thing, but hey, what the hell.

Thanks guys for taking a listen, I appreciate its not everyones cup of tea and prob not the kind of genre of most of the stuff here, but it is music and it is summer..........rock on. (I can hear some of you saying, Music, Thats not music).........Pahahaha

Lots of energy here.
Like a modernized disco song to my old ears but I guess that's what the young 'uns want.  ;D
Vocals are good - but to be honest I couldn't make out the lyrics because of all the effects.
Again though down to my old ears  ;D ;D
I bet young ears will eat it up!

 You should be pitching this...

Also, I LOVE Plymouth ;D I was born there, and spent a large chunk
of my youth there. Really fond memories of hot days with my family
down the Barbican.....was always packed on the Hoe in summer.
 So, I've got to vote for you....haven't I ;D ;D ;)

 Loved it...

Nowt as queer as folk...........my gran

Hi guys, not really a genre I'm that familiar with although I'm constantly telling my son to turn his music down and some of it sounds like this! So that's a plus then! Sounded good to me not sure if the synths are noughties enough, but what do I know. Enjoyed it though, good work!
Cheers

Ok it wont win any songwriting and lyric comps..
Well, I bet Guetta, SHM, Avicii et al won't either but I don't think they cry themselves to sleep over that  ;D
Great EDM track with all the right boxes checked. Not really my genre but I do enjoy a track every now and then and this one qualifies for sure.
Solid production and performance, now excuse me while I go and try out some new moves...  ;D

Very catchy chorus here...musically and with that nice 'Livin it up for the summer' hook. Thought it took too long to get back to it second time round not that I'm any sort of expert in this genre. I think that extended instrumental/ah-ah-ah bit (nice vocals by the way....would Rosanna be up for helping me out on a song or two?) should come after a second chorus and then repeat the chorus after that ad infinitum to end which would lengthen the song but wouldn' matter with a dance track like this.

Shame you missed the deadline cos this would have gone well on the competition album which is going to be a cracker....I'm sure we can stick it on there anyway!
Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Nice frisky dance-able number, very fun to listen to. There are some "anti-prosody" moments I would have tried to "fix", but that's a personal preference thing to some extent (example: POUR your WAter ON me would, I think, normally be spoken POUR your WAter on ME). For most people this probably does not detract from enjoyment of the song, though. And it is conceivable the intent could be redirect where the water is being poured, in which case, it is prosodically (is that a word) correct as sung. :P

That's all I noticed.

Thanks all for the comments.

I curse my secondary school education when I see comments in the quotes, WTF is "anti-prosody" also prosodically. I am off to google this stuff so I can impress my friend when out on drinks.

Only joking CaliaMoko, just showing my ignorance..... ;D

Thanks again.
