So, the Ashes for Dreams project with @Zedd has taken up most of my time lately but I just managed to wrap this on up.
Sort of the epitome of the Jambrains sound I'd say.

Turn up the volume.. ;D

I've stood under the gallows
Had the rope around my neck
but I escaped
and I survived
I was held up once in Dublin
had a gun put to my head
but I escaped
and I survived

Since I met you
my luck has run dry
Since I met you
it passes me by
From that very day
luck walked away
Since I met you
my luck has run dry
Since I met you
it passes me by
From that very day
luck walked away
Since the day I met you

I've been shipwrecked on an island
15000 birds and I
but I escaped
and I survived
I've been lost in the Himalayas
led astray by wind and snow
but I escaped
and I survived

CHORUS

Well I broke a few mirrors
walked under ladders
I've lived on the 13th floor
nothing ever happened
but since the day I met you
everything keeps going wrong

Nice catchy song and a chorus that will no doubt be going round in my head for the next few hours.  Your slightly gruff vocals match the rock guitar backing, and a nice bit of drumming.  Would perhaps have liked it to drop back/build up somewhere along the line just to make sure the listener is still listening.  But a minor gripe on a good track.

@TimCurtis, thanks for the kind words and being so quick to review before I realized my mistake re the 14 days rule. Anyway, the 14 days have now passed and I have updated the original post with link and lyrics.

Hey Jambrains

Great punky tune with rock guitar!! I think your vocal suits the music great and the lyrics very well written and clever. I liked the bridge section of the lyrics too, thought that was particularly clever ;)

I agree a little with TimCurtis a break and build up in the middle would have added maybe a little anticipation for the listener but that is a minor nit. I thought the guitar solo was stellar. Might benefit from a few background vocals but again that's nothing major.

Overall this was a great listen as I got ready this morning to face me day! Thanks for sharing

Hey Jambrains, nice rolling momentum in this... a real foot-tapper.  I like the change of rhythm in the Mid 8 just before the solo, and also the chugging guitars which gave it a kind of late 80s indie rock feel to me (which is a big tick to my tastes).  It's another tune I'd like to be listening to while hurtling down a motorway somewhere.  No suggested amends from me, liked it a lot.
It's all too beautiful.

@Darren1664: thanks for listening and taking the time to comment.Re a break down in the middle, I see what you mean and that is what I would normallydo (one reason I did not do it here) but I found that for this song it did not work, I lost to much momentum which is the key for a song like this (at least to me)

@PaulyX: thanks for the kind words!

Yo JB.

I've been held up in Dublin plenty of times, the traffic layout is $hit.  :D

This is reminiscent of Shane Magowan singing a more rock infused number, though I still detect a celtic feel in there too.

A fine sound overall, loved the guitar tonez.

Hello Mr Brains,

It's been a while! I'm glad you're still churning out hits mate. ;D

I love the lyrical idea and the places you go with it. It's great imagery!

Your music always rocks along nicely...hmm..."Rock" and the word "nice" do not go together well! ;D
How about, your music production just fucking kicks ass!!! ...better??

Nice work mate, I've not really got any nits with this one, sorry man.
Thanks for listening and commenting on my track dude!

Cheers

Really liked this one, JB

Had a sound and a feel that is right up my street.

Top-notch production and a very good song.

Excellent!

Mix and production are really really good.

it s how a modern rock song s supposed to sound.

dunno why but your writing reminds a little of "counting crows" - loved them.

Thanks Skub! Shane McGowan? Sound familiar somehow, have you mention him before perhaps?  ;)

Leo, 'fucking kick ass' sounds just fine to me, thanks a mill mate!  :D

PaulAds: glad you enjoyed it, perhaps we grew up on the same street?

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment Butcher. I actually think this is the first time ever anyone have used 'modern' to describe my music.  ;D

Another great tune, here, Jams!!
Do you use band members to record all of these performances, or is this all done by yourself in a studio? Powerful stuff! I always enjoy the songs you write, but mostly really like the sound and productions you entertain us with. Stellar stuff.......and your vocal is becoming a favorite of mine!
Keep on rockin'.......

 Hi JB,

 Another cracker from you.

How come Scandinavians write such good lyrics, when English is their
second language ?  can you tell me your secret ?  Something I've  been
painfully aware of since Abba, and this song is a case in point.  I love
the lyrics here.  Delivered in your inimitable style.....brilliant ;D ;D

Another powerful piece of work from you, my only thought was that
the guitar solo was a bit cheesy/predictable ;D  I know you can do
better than that, else I wouldn't have mentioned it, as it's good enough ;D

Always enjoy your stuff JB, it's just getting better and better.... ;D

Nowt as queer as folk...........my gran

@IronKnee: thanks for your very kind words! Jambrains is my one-man-band so it all done by myself in the basement, track by track.

@Binladeda: thanks a mill! I have no clue re Scandinavians writing good English lyrics. Perhaps limited knowledge of the language forces us to work harder or maybe we are no better but being a native speaker sort of makes one "lazy"? Or maybe limited skills in a language yields simple but focused and straight to the point lyrics without unnessecary embellishments? Limited options can sometimes yield good results and sometimes many options can overcomplicate things?

I totally hear you re the solo, I have gradually lost intrest in playing solos so I probably going on routine from time to time. Guess I started out as a guitarist writing song and now I'm more of a songwriter playing guitar.

I love how the song easily moves from section to section.
A catchy song, very, chorus gets stuck in the head.

Just for me personally, there was too much rhyming in the chorus(it caused distraction), but thats my taste I guess.

Guitar parts really well recorded and played, and the solo is neither too much, neither too small.

Nice, really nice. I loved how you incorporated the electric guitar in the end continuously, even after the solo.
