Ok, my first version of my summer song.  I want to add electric guitars to this song so, Boydie if you are reading this, why can't I record Fender Amplitube without getting a nasty crackle to the audio track?  Every time I try to do this, I abandon the electric guitar parts.  Thanks.  Paul

Anyway. this was written in the blink of an eye. It's a song for my mum, Margaret who now has advanced stages Alzheimer's disease.  My mum brought the summer to the lives of many people when she was in good health, despite enduring a very difficult time herself for many, many years.

My Sister, Christopher and I

My mother said "Paul, let's go to the beach.
We both can kick our shoes off on the sand."
We'd look out  to sea, my buddy and me.
We'd dream of distant worlds and foreign lands.

The sun lit the sky and embraced
the kindness and love in her face.
I'm sure she was born to be free
but  she chose me.

The fishing boats sailed, her life was derailed
and still, she brought the summer with her smile.
We gathered the shells that danced in the surf
Her time on this earth well spent.

The sun lit the sky and embraced
the kindness and love in her face.
I'm sure she was born to be free
but  she chose me.

A life so pure and true
An ocean, deep and so blue.
She graced the summer sky
for my sister, Chris and I,
for my sister, Chris and I,
for my sister, Christopher and I.

I've almost finished production of this song. It may soon make an appearance in the finished  song section, as my entry for the summer's song competition.  I'm locking this thread with that it mind as it is no longer a work in progress. Thanks

Paul
