Hi Skub,

great song describing my perfect summer. Hopefully the sun we've had recently will be short lived. I agree with Digger the highs on the guitar jumped out a little too much for me. Didn't stop me enjoying your song though.

Oh I love this mate!!  8) It's great to hear you singing it instead of one of your minions! ;D haha!

Lots of nice touches, the harmonies & the shipping news & the sound effects at the end!

A brutally honest summer song!! Great stuff man! ;D

Hey skub

Thought I commented before  - better late than never :)
Great tune - love the laid back feel and how the chorus stands out by going down - clever approach there. Quality vocals, guitar work, well pretty much everything  ;D

Another strong contender for the coveted trophy. ;D ;D

Yodasdad

The reason you don't hear more of the organ YD,is because it's using the computer keyboard, not the best for getting frisky...plus I'm no keyboard player anyway.  :D

I had a further listen for the guitar jumping out in places,I think I know what you mean. I play guitar using my nails and sometimes when I'm feeling the music,I get a bit heavy using my thumbnail. I'll watch for that,or maybe use more compression to tame the spikes. Ta for the input.  :)

Cheers Keith,feedback noted.  :)

A great pop song and great guitars. Everything on the money there are a few places in the mix where the guitar and/or vocals get a bit too up front for my taste but only minor issues really. Vocals are probably the weak link here, not that they are bad but the rest of the track is so fab that it leavs a little more to be desired from the vocals. Easier said than done though (I know, been there, done that..)  I guess all we can do is to make the best of the gifts we were given and you sure do so all in all: loved this!

Heya Skub,

Can't believe no-one else has mentioned the lack of lyrics! :P

Into guitar grabbed me straight away, and carried on to throughout the whole song to be fair.

Really enjoyed the lyrics too, a great comical but real and relatable view of the English Sumner, "3 months of rain" ;D

Weather report really worked somehow too, great use of audio clips there.

Backing vocals sounded fantastic and the sound quality and mix stood out as super quality all around.

Great listen.

Cheers,
Scott

Ta Scott, good to see you about laddie.  :)

It's a flawed submission,because it's just myself,but I hope to learn from that.

Wow  ;D ;D  Amazing song Skub.

Think this is one of your best. Lovely relaxed, laid back feel.
Thought it was a happy, uplifting song.  Made me smile a lot ;D ;D

The weather forecast was an inspired touch, worked really
well. Nice arrangement, really liked the style of the whole
thing.  Great playing, and I think the vocals were the best
 I've heard of yours.....top marks old chap  ;D ;D

Another song that reflects the high standard on display here.
 AWESOME ;D ;D

Listened a few times now and nothing much to say except I really liked it! The lyrics and delivery have that laid back resignation and super guitar as always.
Nice and different (but sadly familiar) take on the competition theme!

Hi Skub,

The song is relaxing, and also with a catchy groove.

High-quality production, loved it, clean recording and mixing, loved the 'oooh' vowel sound prior to the hook.

Good idea to add that sampled radio weather broadcast.

Cosy song and fun to listen to.

Love this track, Skub, despite the subject matter ::) I can totally relate. I remember summers as a kid like that  :( the lyrics are totally tongue in cheek and you've done an amazing job of fitting the music.
Loved the oh's and vocals! the weather broadcast adds the perfect tough and the outro rain ;)
A very clean track and a totally enjoyable listen :)

What I like:
The tongue-in-cheek (I think?) topic and how well the words and melody go together. It's all smooth and fits well.

What could be better:
I know there's always something that could be improved, always. But there's nothing about this I'm interested in changing. I like it as is.
