we've just literally finished this track. Hugely personal for me (in fact I'm not quite sure how much if any of the back story I want to share with anyone just now) There's lots of "clues"even in the artwork for the song.

I'm not sure how I feel about the track yet it was really hard to produce and took a lot longer than any of our previous songs to finish.

the song is about the downside of being in love i.e when bad things happen to the ones you love how hard that can be to deal with

Lyrics
I wont leave, until you ask
I'm not sure, why this hurts
If we could, should we change?
Let's make plans, then re-arrange

I never thought to ask if I could be enough
You're only lying to yourself
Is this forever or a consequence of love?
I'm not the same as all the rest
.... and I wont stop

Can we try and forget
Idle words are empty threats
Just this once, please ourselves
Take control and make ammends

I never thought to ask if I could be enough
You're only lying to yourself
Is this forever or a consequence of love?
I'm not the same as all the rest
.... and I wont stop

you've got to listen very closely now
you've got to take this on board
you've got to pick yourself up again
and find a light in this darkness
it wont hurt as much as you think
you've got to tell yourself this
I'm not the same as all the rest
and I wont stop

I wont leave, until you ask
I'm not sure, why this hurts...

I never thought to ask if I could be enough
You're only lying to yourself
Is this forever or a consequence of love
I'm not the same as all the rest
.... and I wont stop

This indecision was a part of something else
just let the silence close you in
Is this forever or a consequence of love
you're only lying to yourself

Ticks a lot of boxes for me - nice chunky bassline, rousing chorus, some sweet arpeggios, tonnes of dynamics in the song, and a surprising ending.  Sounds professionally recording and mastered.  I couldn't really get a sense of what the chorus is about from the lyrics, but you say it's hugely personal so I guess you are veiling that intentionally.  Thanks for sharing, hope it does well for you.
It's all too beautiful.

Very modern with lots of energy.

AndyB.

Bloody great track, loved it, Sounds really pro too. you have a good sound there...I really like the Indie/rock  sound.

Ok, here it is..................One thing, I reckon the vocal should be a little less dry, maybe a slight effect on or a bit wider,
But hey, who cares, sound great and thats a mixing, personal style thing.

I thought it was the dogs guys, hope it goes far.

Cheers
Andy

aaw man this made my day thanks very much. The vocal was intentionally raw, didn't try and hide my accent too much nor over produce it but we have the luxury of remixing and editing almost indefinitely (not always a good thing as in the case of this song we struggled to say that's it, done!). We are not pro at all, very much a part time band, and even more part time songwriters. Guitarist #1 has a bit better than home studio set up but again far from pro and guitarist #2 has got a good ear for mixing, all production is done by us. The only luxury we have is time, we are not on the clock but it's snatching an hour here, 2 hours there  (usually in the wee hours) but it's something we care about deeply and enjoy doing.

Hi Andy

Good driving meter to this - enjoyable listen!
Great vocals, guitars, production and arrangement.
For me the hook seemed a bit buried in the lyrics - I guess I prefer to hear it in a melodic power position or at the end of a chorus.

Otherwise, good tune!

Hugely powerful track Andy which kept my attention all the way through. It rattled my toe nails off in fact. Touches of Biffy and Metallica in there.  No bad thing. I liked this a lot  :)

Really great track AndyB

Nice and upbeat, meaningful lyrics and a really catchy chorus. The vocals, guitars, drums etc are really well recorded and mixed etc. It's really good listen - I'm gonna leave it on while I do some housework :P (I'm so rock n roll!)

Thanks for sharing this. Darren

Guys the comments are really appreciated, I was nervous putting this song out maybe because it was so personal, maybe I didn't feel it was a strong as other songs we've done. Genuinely grateful for the encouragement.

HI
Another bit of cool pop rock. Catchy
Lots going on but it all works.
My only thought was around the vocals on the verses, they could be slightly higher in the mix.
Pretty radio friendly too.

Yo Andy.

I've a thing at the moment for short punchy songs. Wham, bam, thank you mam and get it all said and done in 3 minutes. I find it good discipline to work to a time limit,it helps to cut the froth and filler and condense the killer. This Choon bangs all the boxes. Great stuff.  8)
