Oozing of Beatles et al vibes! Fab vocals and guitars are just sooooo nice. Some really nice chords progression going on.
Mix clean and balanced but the cymbals in the chorus(es) are washing around like crazy, they really could use a bit of taming. Nah, not could, should!  :D
Varied and plenty of nice embellishments here and there.
Very impressive writing but equally impressive arranging and performance.
Well done both of you!

A huge thank you to all of you who have taken time to listen and review our collaboration.

Paul - Thanks so much, it really was great fun to work on and the music hopefully reflected the story

PaulyX - actually we did talk about putting a Sitar on the song at one time. There's a lot going on there

Morefrog - Thanks  :)

Skub - Neil does get some great guitar sounds. This was absolute harmony heaven for me. Just love doing that stuff.

Rick - Thanks - Neil mixed the track

Tina - Glad Bill attached himself to you. I love whacky and weird lyrics  :)

Micky - You guessed the influences then  :)

Scott - Thanks man, I think that's one of the things that comes out of collabs

Paulski - I don't know if crack-up is a word as well ? I think you tend to get that something extra out of a collab. Thanks so much

Adam - Yes, Neil developed the story form my initial first verse and what an epic tale it became  :)

Yoda - There was lots of stuff in there, you should have heard what we left out  :)

Sandeep - Of course influences easy to guess - Thanks so much for your review

Ashes - Thanks a lot - We'll have a word with Ringo and ask him to calm it down a bit. He does have a tendency to get carried away at times  :)

Cheers all once again

John

And thanks for the comments and to John from me.
I think we pushed each up to the next level.

Jamie, thanks. Weird lyrics get in there!

Onwards and upwards toward the summer comp now.

It's hard to know where to start in reviewing this song.  It's a real feast of lyrical imagery, interesting harmony and melody.  In a nutshell, it's best to say that's I really enjoyed this and tip my hat to the whole production.

Excellent chaps!

Hey guys, nice collab! Though not at all what I expected. Very different and creative. I'm a stickler for prosody, so there are a couple spots I would rework, with that in mind, but nothing very major. It's a bit long, but it would be hard to get through your entire story with less, and it isn't that long, right? I appreciate the message of the song--and the entertaining approach to telling the story might get a few people to listen. People who might not otherwise, that is.

It isn't a style of music that appeals to me, so I don't have any constructive or meaningful feedback to provide. I do like weird stuff, though, so you got that going for you.  ;D

An amazing piece of work. Just love the vocal PJ,
especially the BV's.  Great guitar work Neil, really
nice 'weeping' quality to some of the solo stuff  ;D

Top class collab. guys.  One of the best I've heard
on this forum.  MORE PLEASE  ;D

Hi Guys,

Not a lot I can write that hasn't already been written.
Quite a creation here. Latter day Beatles for sure. But what a great job.
All comes together so brilliantly.
The vocals and harmonies work a treat.
The musical backdrop is epic and trippy.
The production standard is very high indeed.
