Thank you to everyone who took time to review this

Paulads - Fantastic feedback thanks Paul - I'm glad it knocked you sideways  :)

Vicki - Yes, I was brought up with The Beatles and they are probably one of my biggest influences

Adam - Sorry about the Dirty Dog earworm  :) I like it when you return to your comfort zone now and again

Pauly -Thanks mate, hope you got the house spick and span

Tina - A big thank you - We seem to be getting fly tipping incidents every week now

Micky - Yep, this was just one of those two hour song jobs, very occasionaly that just happens  :) I took your suggestion and added some guitar on the last chorus

Martin - It's ON indeed  :)

Count - Thanks, I love doing this sort of stuff

Skub - Yeah ! RAWK and RAWL

Lostboy - Wow, what can I say - Thank YOU

Darren - Glad you enjoyed it, that means a lot

Paulski - Did put a guitar solo in at the end but didn't trim it - Sorry  :)

Yoda - Thanks for the fab review - Much appreciated

All the best

John

Hi John,

How many great songs can you have on this forum....not fair.

Definitely hints of Madness and Squeeze ....with the energy of the Jam

My type of music

Great lyrics... Love this

Hi John,

I can relate to this our beaches down here in Devon and Cornwall get littered all through the summer by the peeps on hols. I feel your anger.

Love the song too, your vocal has a great gritty tone too.

Nice work.

Brilliant. Nothing more to say...

... Great lyrical idea, superbly articulated. Music is so powerful that it meets the lyrical challenge perfectly. Your voice fits this style perfectly. Sounds just like something that I used to hear on the wireless, and really wished I still could

Well done.

Thanks to you Andy. Yes more shite deposited recently.  Thanks so much Del. I really do wish we had a commercial radio station playing newly released non auto tuned music. 6 Music is about the best there is around these days. Maybe slightly unsound but local radio station was going on about all the great music Manchester had produced over the years and then played a track by Simply Red

Hi John, another one of your inspired punk driven guitar songs. I like the energy and time feeling you give it. Up to your normal high standards of production and playing.
Nice one!
Cheers

John,
Like it a lot. Got some real energy, top lyrics and fab chorus.
Only suggestion is that you add some bv's to chorus, where you repeat the 'cant leave that on our beach' in call and response style.
real contender

Hi John,

Great energy.
Love the lyrics.
Was it The Damned who did the song Neat Neat Neat? The song puts me of the mind of that era of song.

Rocking stuff.

Hi John,

your song took me back to my youth. Left me all aglow.

If your Council's like ours they increased the charges for builders taking stuff to the tips so they fly tip or leave it with the residents to get rid of.

If its getting worse you might want to try and do something about it. I'm sure other people will getting fed up with all the rubbish that's dumped on the beach.

Good luck in the competition

Keith

Hey John,

Was excited reading to hear you in your own element, and can see how raw the message is in throwing away the glitter to get a real firey anger out - but a real shame on the motivation to do so!

Makes for a nice take in the summer/beach theme .

Vocals are great and direct, as to support the message loving the rage both lyrically and musically and how the rhymes seem almost accidental as you make your point - making it seem effortless and organic!

You got me worked up at least, need to blast this 24h on that beach, maybe get the message across!

Hope it gets cleared up before the sun does, but what a fantastic listen!

All the best,
Scott

What I like:
The topic! It's a great, unique approach to the theme, and it all works great. Many clear images as I listen. I love the treatment, too; it's so appropriate.

What I think could be better:
Some of the words..."I'll go and slap your missus" makes me cringe. I'm not sure; is that something overheard on the beach? Part of the "garbage"?

The line "No way, neat, neat, neat" doesn't flow for me. I think the words are fine, but the rhythm doesn't work for me. Probably just a personal thing, but I would put them closer together, maybe even add one or two more. Likely just me, though....

Sounds like you really had fun putting this one down John :o
Nothing like getting stuff off your chest, in a song  :o
The passion comes across so well, and to me that's what's it's all about 8)
A very invigorating track, with great lyrics and vocals, and the style suits the message perfectly, IMO :)
Love it! Well done and good luck :) :)

Thanks Vicki and Suzy guys for your further comments.

Just to clarify a couple of points

Quote
Some of the words..."I'll go and slap your missus" makes me cringe. I'm not sure; is that something overheard on the beach? Part of the "garbage"?

This is the sort of response that I've encountered before when I've asked somebody to pick up their dog poo ! It's the kind of (un)friendly banter used by certain individuals round here  >:(

The Neat, neat, neat line is a reference to the English Punk Band, The Damned, It was their second single released in 1977

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neat_Neat_Neat

I wanted to reference something Punk related.
